A201 road

The A201 is an A road in London running from Kings Cross to Elephant and Castle.

The route passes along Kings Cross Road, Farringdon Road, Farringdon Street, New Bridge Street, Blackfriars Bridge, Blackfriars Road, London Road to the Elephant and Castle, and finally New Kent Road where it merges with the A2 road on the Old Kent Road.

Kings Cross Road

Kings Cross Road runs one-way south-east from Pentonville Road to a junction with Penton Rise where it turns directly south before running south-east again to Calthorpe Street where it meets Farringdon Road. It is home to the Representative of Montserrat in London.

Farringdon Road

Farringdon Road runs south-east from King's Cross Road, crossing Rosebery Avenue, then turns south crossing Clerkenwell Road before passing Farringdon station.

It finishes on the border between the City of London, the London Borough of Camden and the London Borough of Islington, at the junction of Charterhouse Street and Farringdon Street.

Blackfriars Road

Blackfriars Road runs between St George's Circus in Southwark at the southern end and Blackfriars Bridge, over the River Thames, at the northern end, leading to the City of London. Halfway up on the west side is Southwark tube station, on the corner with The Cut. Opposite is Palestra, the new building of the London Development Agency, at No. 197.

Cross Road (album)

Cross Road is the first greatest hits album by American rock band Bon Jovi, released on October 11, 1994 by Mercury Records. The album contains hits from between Bon Jovi (1984) and Keep the Faith (1992) and two new tracks: the hit singles "Always" and "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night", as well as a new, updated rendition of "Livin' on a Prayer" entitled "Prayer '94" available only on the North American versions. "Runaway" was never recorded with the current band, though at that time there were plans to put a "Runaway '94" on the album but it was never recorded. The diner located on the cover of the album is the Roadside Diner in Wall Township, NJ, near the crossroads of Route 33 and Route 34.

"Always", the album's first single, became Bon Jovi's highest selling single in the U.S., spending six months on the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and was also an international hit which helped the album peaking at number one in 13 countries. Cross Road was the best-selling album of 1994 in the UK. The album is Bon Jovi's best selling record in many countries, and continues to sell well. The album has sold over 21.5 million copies worldwide, and has been cited as one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Cross Road is a video release of music videos by rock band Bon Jovi, coinciding with the bands greatest hits album of the same name. It contains 16 of the band's music videos, 4 of which previously unreleased. It won a 1994 Metal Edge Readers Choice Award for Best Video Cassette.

Kings Cross or King's Cross may refer to:

King's Cross (song)

"King's Cross" is a Pet Shop Boys song, written by Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant and is a track on their 1987 album Actually. It was covered and released as a single in 2007 by Tracey Thorn.

Original version and the King's Cross Fire

Although the lyrics appear to refer to the King's Cross fire of November 1987, the album that the song appeared on was released two months before it. The song is actually about desperation and unemployment.

It was suggested that Pet Shop Boys release it a single to raise money for charity following the fire, but they never did. Music magazines at the time though (such as Smash Hits) carried adverts to call premium rate phone lines to hear the song, and the money from the phone call would then go to the charity for fire victims.

Tracey Thorn version

On 9 December 2007, Tracey Thorn released "King's Cross" as the final single from her Out of the Woods album.

A cover of "King's Cross" first appeared as an iTunes exclusive bonus track to Thorn's album Out of the Woods. Recorded for inclusion on the main album, Thorn says on her Myspace page that there was not enough room to include it.

Kings Cross lies in the south of the borough, and is one of three wards of Camden south of Euston Road (along with Bloomsbury and Holborn and Covent Garden). It is separated from Bloomsbury by Upper Woburn Place, Tavistock Square, Tavistock Place, Hunter Street, and Grenville Street; from Holborn and Covent Garden by Guilford Street and Calthorpe Street; from the borough of Islington by Kings Cross Road and Pentonville Road; and from St Pancras and Somers Town by Euston Road.
