Insight was an Emmy-winning syndicated television series produced by Paulist Productions that aired 250 episodes from 1960 to 1983. The series presented half-hour dramas illuminating the contemporary search for meaning, freedom, and love. Insight was an anthology series, using an eclectic set of story telling forms including comedy, melodrama, and fantasy to explore moral dilemmas.

The series was created by Roman Catholic priest Ellwood E. "Bud" Kieser, the founder of Paulist Productions. A member of the Paulist Fathers, an evangelistic Catholic order of priests, he worked in the entertainment community in Hollywood as a priest-producer and occasional host, using television as a vehicle of spiritual enrichment. Many of the episodes of the series were videotaped at CBS Television City and then Metromedia Square.

Insight was nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Religious Programming in 1972 and 1973 and won the category from 1981 to 1984. The anthology format and the religious nature of the program attracted a wide variety of actors (including Ed Asner, Jack Albertson, Beau Bridges, Patty Duke, Wesley Eure, Bob Hastings, Cicely Tyson, Jack Klugman, Robert Lansing, Walter Matthau, Deborah Winters, Bob Newhart, John Ritter, Michael Shea, and Martin Sheen), directors (such as Marc Daniels, Arthur Hiller, Norman Lloyd, Delbert Mann, Ted Post, Jay Sandrich, and Jack Shea), and writers (Rod Serling, John T. Dugan, Lan O'Kun, and Michael Crichton) to work on the series.

In the United States the series was typically shown on Sunday mornings or late night. Often stations aired Insight in order to meet the Federal Communications Commission's public interest standard for broadcast television.

Several episodes are available for purchase from the Paulist Press.

    Reception

Allmusic awarded the album 4 stars with its review by Thom Jurek stating: "this is not an exploratory outside date, but a straight-ahead session of originals and standards, divided between uptempo numbers and ballads. ...For all its traditionalism, this is indeed a major date for Lasha and reveals how deeply ensconced he was in the bop and swing lineages".

  • Kick

A kick is a physical strike using the foot, leg, or knee (the latter is also known as a knee strike). This type of attack is used frequently by hooved animals as well as humans in the context of stand-up fighting. Kicks play a significant role in many forms of martial arts, such as savate, Combat Hopak, taekwondo, sikaran, karate, Pankration, Kung fu, Vovinam, kickboxing, Muay Thai, capoeira, silat, and kalaripayattu.

Kicking is also prominent from its use in many sports, especially those called football. The best known of these sports is association football, also known as soccer.

    History

The English verb to kick appears only in the late 14th century, apparently as a loan from Old Norse, originally in the sense of a hooved animal delivering strikes with his hind legs; the oldest use is Biblical.

Kicks as an act of human aggression have likely existed worldwide since prehistory. However, high kicks, aiming above the waist or to the head appear to have originated from Asian martial arts. Such kicks were introduced to the west in the 19th century with early hybrid martial arts inspired by Asian styles such as Bartitsu and Savate. Practice of high kicks became more universal in the second half of the 20th century with the more widespread development of hybrid styles such as kickboxing and eventually mixed martial arts.

    Kick (2014 film)

Kick is a 2014 Indian action film produced and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala under his Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. It is an official remake of a Telugu movie Kick which was released in 2009. The film features Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles and Nawazuddin Siddiqui , portraying the main antagonist of the film. The screenplay is adapted by Sajid Nadiadwala and Chetan Bhagat. The film released on 25 July 2014 in about 5,000 screens worldwide.

    Plot

Dr. Shaina Mehra (Jacqueline Fernandez) is a psychiatrist living in Warsaw, Poland. One day, her father, Mr. Brijesh Mehra (Saurabh Shukla) brings a marriage proposal and asks her to meet Himanshu Tyagi (Randeep Hooda). Himanshu and Shaina meet in a train, where Shaina reveals that she had an ex-boyfriend, Devi, (Salman Khan) and talks about her experiences with him.

Devi Lal Singh is a highly intelligent but adventurous who is always looking for a 'kick' in his life. Due to his daredevil attitude, he never stays in one job for long. He has resigned from 32 companies as he feels that he is suffering from a lack of kick. When Shaina first meets Devi, she is trying to help her friend Vidhi (Sumona Chakravarti) elope with her lover who turns out to be Devi's friend (Kavin Dave). Devi gets them married in a temple but also helps her mother follow them and reach the temple for 'kick'. Shaina starts to like Devi after seeing a video of him beating the goons. Later Shaina meets Devi's caring but easy going parents including his father Lal Singh (Mithun Chakraborty) and his mother (Archana Puran Singh). Devi and Shaina start dating, and fall in love and get married. On Shaina's suggestion, Devi accepts a job in a chemical lab, but resigns in a few days suffering from the lack of "kick". Upon hearing this, Shaina scolds him. Upset, Devi breaks up with her and moves away.

    Kick (b-boy move)

A kick is a b-boy move that generally constitutes a one-handed handstand with the legs and free arm in some stylish position. Kicks can be employed as freezes, in which case they are held as long as possible. Alternatively, they can be executed quickly and powerfully to impress onlookers. Kicks are often named after letters or symbols whose form they imitate. The hand used for the stand is the "standing hand" and the leg on the same side of the body is the "standing leg." The other pair of appendages are the "free" hand and leg.

    Variants

    Some notable kicks include:

  • Airchair - Similar in appearance to a kick, the airchair is sometimes considered a float because it employs a stab. The position of the legs and free arm varies.
  • G-Kick - The free hand grabs either foot, which is bent backwards so the back forms a G shape.
  • K-Kick - The free leg is held vertical, with the free arm held flat along the side. The standing leg is held straight at an angle like the letter "K".
  • Pike - The legs are together in a not necessarily 90 degree angle at the side of the body.

if you want to find the hitten key
    there's nothing here on me.
    Any city anywhere
    any colours I don't care
    you belong to me
that's the way it's gonna be.
    Kick it in
    kick it in.
    Kick it in
    kick it in
raise it up and let it live again
feel your body shake and take off.
    You could lie

    keep me down here wondering
    what's it gonna be
    come on in.
I like the shape you're in
    you keep me wondering
    wondering
    wondering.
Eyes upon you black and brown
spread your love all over town
    give me fire body heat
    say hello to me.
    I want to go anywhere
    any colour I don't care
don't believe in all you see and don't get caught up.
