Kibaale District, sometimes spelled as Kibale District, is a district in the Western Region of Uganda. The district headquarters are located in the town of Kibaale.
Kibaale District is bordered by Hoima District to the north, Kyankwanzi District to the northeast, Mubende District to the east, Kyegegwa District to the southeast, Kyenjojo District and Kabarole District to the southwest, and Ntoroko District to the west. The district headquarters at Kibaale are approximately 219 kilometres (136 mi), by road, west of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. The coordinates of the district are 00 58N, 30 59E.
The largest town in the district is Kagadi, in Buyaga County, followed by Karuguuza in Buyanja County. A main trunk road was built in 1997, the result of co-operation between the governments of Uganda and Ireland. The road connects the towns of Mubende, Kakumiro, Kibaale, and Kagadi.
The Ugandan government has plans to split the district into three smaller districts. Those plans, however, are on hold because of funding constraints.
Kibaale is a town in the Western Region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial center of Kibaale District, and the district headquarters are located there.
Kibaale is in Buyaga County, approximately 220 kilometres (140 mi), by road, west of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. This is approximately 98 kilometres (61 mi), southwest of Hoima, the nearest large town. The coordinates of the town are:0°47'28.0"N, 31°04'30.0"E (Latitude: 0.791100; Longitude: 31.075003).
The 2002 national census estimated the population of Kibaale at 4,800. In 2010, the population hsd grown to 7,200, as estimated by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). In 2011, UBOS estimated the population at 7,600.
