Khan!

Khan! is an American television detective series. Set in San Francisco, it is named after the central character, a Chinese-American detective, played by Khigh Dhiegh. Evan C. Kim and Irene Yah-Ling Sun are featured as his relatives. Four episodes were aired in February 1975 on CBS. Dhiegh is best known for his portrayal of the Chinese spy Wo Fat on Hawaii Five-O from 1968 to 1980.

In an unusual move, Dhiegh insisted on having no onscreen billing for his role, despite playing the title character. In an interview to promote the show, he stated, "To be made the focal point of attention is something that disturbs me greatly. After all, we must remember it is not me, the individual, that is important. That is why I have told CBS I want no credits for the series. The goal is not to make any one person a star, but to create something that is good for all."

Administrative divisions of Cambodia

Cambodia is divided into 24 provinces (Khmer: ខេត្ត, khaet) (as of January 2014 New Province of Tboung Khmum split off from Kampong Cham Province) and the special administrative unit Phnom Penh (Khmer: ភ្នំពេញ, Phnom Penh). Though a different administrative unit, Phnom Penh is at province level, so de facto Cambodia has 25 provinces and municipality.

Each of Cambodia's 24 provinces is divided into Districts (Khmer: ស្រុក, Srok)- as of 2010 there are 159 districts and 12 districts in Phnom Penh (Khmer: ខណ្ឌ, Khan). Each of the provinces has one capital district (changed to "City/Town", Khmer: ក្រុង, Krong), e.g. for Siem Reap it's Srok Siem Reap. The exceptions are Banteay Meanchey, Kandal, Mondulkiri, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear Province and Rattanakiri, where the province and the capital district does not match together.

District (ស្រុក, srok) of a province is divided into "Communes" (Khmer: ឃុំ, Khum). "Commune" (Khmer: ឃុំ, Khum) is further divided into "Villages" (Khmer: ភូមិ, Phum).

Kamal

Kamal el-Alaoui is a mutant villain who first appeared in Magneto #1. Kamal was amongst those Acolytes encountered by the young clone of Magneto named Joseph in the remains of the Acolytes' orbital base Avalon in the foothills of the Andes Mountain near the Bolivian border in South America. Kamal has not been seen after Cassandra Nova's Sentinel destroyed Genosha, killing 16 million mutants. Kamal's mutant powers allows him to absorb the appearance and properties of materials he touches.

Kariooq

Kariooq, The Corruptor appears in Alpha Flight (vol. 1) #24. He resembles a giant rotting corpse with green skin, similar to the Inhumanoid named D'Compose (although the two were created around the same time period). Kariooq is never fleshed out other than his weakness to ice ("the preserver") and his enmity with Tundra as a rival. It can be assumed however that his power might be that of decay and corruption or even control of the dead.

The Secrets of Droon

The Secrets of Droon is a fantasy book series by Tony Abbott and cover illustration is done by Tim Jessel aimed at elementary school-age children. The first book The Hidden Staircase and Magical Carpet was published in June 1, 1999. On October 1, 2010, the final book of the series: Special Edition 8: The Final Quest was released, concluding its eleven-year run. The series consisting of 44 books (including Special Editions) are still published. The series was named by the American Booksellers Association among the top ten books for Harry Potter fans.

An audio version of the series is available from Listening Library, an imprint of the The Random House Audio Publishing Group.

Scholastic Inc., the publisher took huge efforts to popularize the series. In the official website of the series (created by Scholastic) various innovative factors were introduced like Droon game, Droon quiz, Droon timeline, Droon songs, Droon encyclopedia, Droon map etc.

The story is about Eric, Julie, and Neal who discover an enchanted stairway in Eric's basement, which turns out to be a portal to the magical and troubled world of Droon. It's a wondrous place where adventure is always close at hand. They take the help of various adult characters.

Khan (band)

Khan were an English progressive rock band of the Canterbury Scene during 1971-1972.

Formed by Steve Hillage from Uriel, the initial line-up was Steve Hillage (guitar), Nick Greenwood (bass guitar, from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown), Dick Heninghem (organ) and Pip Pyle (percussion). Pyle quickly moved on to Gong and by the time the band played its first gig in June 1971 he had been replaced by Eric Peachey (from Dr. K’s Blues Band). In October 1971 Dick Heninghem left as well, replaced by Dave Stewart for the duration of the album sessions.

The album Space Shanty was released in June 1972, followed by a UK tour supporting Caravan, for which Canadian organist Val Stevens joined. The songs on Space Shanty have some of the most emotion-filled and gloriously picturesque lyrics and compositions out of the whole Canterbury scene/sound. Songs like "Stranded" and "Driving To Amsterdam" attempt atmospheres reminiscent of Uriah Heep's epic ballads (something not often done in a direct and dedicated way in the Canterbury scene - while Kevin Ayers may be comparable, a key difference is that Hillage's lyrics and compositions aren't detached or ironic).
