Khakrez District is situated in the northern part of Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. It borders Ghorak District to the west, Maywand and Panjwai districts to the south, Arghandab and Shah Wali Kot districts to the east and Naish District to the north. The population is 20,200( 2006).[citation needed] The district center is the village of Khakrez, located in the western part of the district, about two hours drive northwest of Kandahar.[citation needed]
