Nashim (Hebrew: נשים, "Women" or "Wives") is the third order of the Mishnah (also of the Tosefta and Talmud), containing the laws related to women and family life. Of the six orders of the Mishna, it is the second shortest.

Ket people

Kets (Russian: Кеты; Ket: денг) are a Siberian people who speak the Ket language. In the Russian Empire, they were called Ostyaks, without differentiating them from several other Siberian peoples. Later they became known as Yenisey ostyaks, because they lived in the middle and lower basin of the Yenisei River in the Krasnoyarsk Krai district of Russia. The modern Kets lived along the eastern middle stretch of the river before being assimilated politically into Russia between the 17th and 19th centuries. According to the 2010 census, there were 1,219 Kets in Russia.

History

The Ket are thought to be the only survivors of an ancient nomadic people believed to have originally lived throughout central and southern Siberia. In the 1960s the Yugh people were distinguished as a separate though similar group. Today's Kets are the descendants of the tribes of fishermen and hunters of the Yenisey taiga, who adopted some of the cultural ways of those original Ket-speaking tribes of South Siberia. The earlier tribes engaged in hunting, fishing, and even reindeer breeding in the northern areas.

Ket (software)

Ket is an open source algebra editor. It is distinct from other editors which focus on automated computation such as integration or equation solving (Mathematica, Maple etc.) or on the presentation quality of the resulting document (e.g. LaTeX). The focus of Ket is to enable the user to perform algebra quickly and efficiently. It is therefore closer to a text editor, whiteboard or to the back of an envelope. However, it does provide a range of tools to automate the individual steps of algebra.

Overview

Ket breaks equation editing into a series of small edits performed by keyboard or mouse gestures. This is because equations contain a wide assortment of symbols and notations, but also contain a great deal of repetition. As a result, it is faster to reuse existing expressions than it is to re-write them. This becomes even more pronounced when performing algebra which consists of modifying and combining existing expressions adding further repetition.

Commands are built around abstract transformations of the structure of the equation. Some commands delete, reorganize and combine existing expressions and some add new content. Commands are all responsive enough to provide instantaneous updates. The user can therefore view an equation in conventional mathematical notation while interacting with a series of small fragments.

Ket (Greyhawk)

Ket is a political state in the fictional World of Greyhawk campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game. Because it lies in the only gap in the north-south spine of mountains that divides the eastern Flanaess from the western Baklunish Basin, Ket is a nexus of important trade routes, a nation of caravans and merchants where peoples and cultures from all parts of the Flanaess mix and mingle. Various editions of material published about this region between 1980 and 2000 have changed its character from a self-serving state often at odds with its neighbors to an evil state in league with the enemies of Good, and back again. Using Ket as a setting enables dungeon masters to present adventures within a pseudo-Persian or Arabian background, or to use Ket's grassy plains or primeval forest as a geographical setting, or to highlight tensions between major cultures of the World of Greyhawk, or to use the themes of trade, bazaars, caravans, evil viziers or horse-centered culture. From 2001-2008, Ket was also a region of the Living Greyhawk campaign linked to play in most of Eastern Canada.

Keť

Keť (Hungarian: Érsekkéty) is a village and municipality in the Levice District in the Nitra Region of Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1308.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 150 metres and covers an area of 19.65 km². It has a population of about 680 people.

Ethnicity

The village is approximately 94% Magyar and 6% Slovak.
