Kenan Sipahi (Albanian: Kenan Spahiu, born May 26, 1995) is a Turkish-Kosovar professional basketball player who plays for Pınar Karşıyaka of the Turkish Basketball League, on loan from Fenerbahçe. The point guard of Kosovar descent stands at 6 ft 5.75 in (1.97 m).
Sipahi started playing basketball in Bursa at the age of 11 and quickly became a top-level prospect in the country at 15.
He made his professional debut in the Turkish League with Tofaş Bursa during the 2010–11 season. He was already playing regularly at the age of 16.
Sipahi made his breakthrough in a 2012-13 season. He played plenty of minutes in the league and EuroChallenge. On January 15, 2013, he scored a game winning three-pointer against Khimik. He averaged 7 points and 2.7 assists in 32 league games.
On September 2, 2013, he signed a three-year contract with option to extend for one season with Fenerbahçe. At the age of 19, he made the roster of Fenerbahçe in the Euroleague. In February 2014, he had season-ending injury, after breaking his arm in Turkish Cup game against Trabzonspor. In his first Euroleague season with the team, he averaged 2.7 points, 1.1 assists and 1 rebound over 15 games.
Kenan (also spelled Qenan, Kainan or Cainan) Hebrew: קֵינָן, Modern Keinan, Tiberian Kaynan ; Qênān) was a Biblical patriarch first mentioned in the Hebrew Bible Book of Genesis as living before the Great Flood. He is also mentioned in the Genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3:36-37.
A second, postdiluvian Cainan is mentioned in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Book of Genesis, in the Book of Jubilees and in the Genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3.
According to Genesis 5:9-14, Kenan was a son of Enosh and a grandson of Seth. Born when Enosh was ninety years old, Kenan fathered Mahalalel when he was seventy. Other sons and daughters were born to Kenan before he died at 910 years of age.
According to the Book of Jubilees, Kenan's mother was Noam, wife and sister of Enosh; and Kenan's wife, Mualeleth, was his sister.
Kenan is a predominantly Bosnian and Turkish masculine given name. It is also an archaic spelling of the Irish name Conan or Welsh Cynan.
