Kelvin Davis

Kelvin Geoffrey Davis (born 29 September 1976) is an English footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Southampton. Born in Bedford, Davis began his career with Luton Town as a youth player in 1991 and remained there until 1999. Davis later played for Wimbledon, Ipswich Town and Sunderland before moving to Southampton in 2006.

Davis was team captain of Southampton from 2009 to 2012, after which he became club captain.

Early career

Davis was born in Bedford, Bedfordshire and started his career as a trainee with Luton Town, turning professional in July 1994. He joined Torquay United on loan in September 1994 as cover for the injured Ashley Bayes, making his debut in the 3–3 draw at home to Colchester United on 17 September. He also played in the 2–1 defeat at home to Barnet the following week before returning to Luton. He had a further loan spell, with Hartlepool United in August 1997.

He joined Wimbledon in July 1999 for a fee of £600,000. He joined Ipswich Town on a free transfer in July 2003, where he enjoyed the acclaim of Championship Goalkeeper of the year, helping steer Ipswich to third in the table.

Kelvin Davis (July 12, 1959, New Brunswick, New Jersey) is a professional basketball player who became the oldest rookie to play in the American Basketball Association, when he debuted at age 47 during the 2007 season.

Davis was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on July 12, 1959 to parents Matthew and Verba Davis. In 1961, his family moved to Evergreen, Alabama where he was an all around athlete; he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. In basketball, Kelvin averaged 21 points per game. Kelvin also made the all state Team was the most valuable player in Conecuh County, Alabama.

After graduating from high school Davis was offered a basketball scholarship to Jefferson Davis Jr. College in Brewton, Alabama. Two years later he was offered a scholarship to Alabama State University. In 1982 he graduated from ASU with a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Biology.

In 1982, Davis became a member of Rice Temple Church where he met his wife Stephanie. To this union was born Danielle, Kelvin Jr. and Princeton Davis.

Kelvin Glen Davis is a New Zealand politician and a member of the House of Representatives. He is a member of the Labour Party.

Early life

Davis was born in and grew up in the Bay of Islands. He received his secondary education at the Bay of Islands College from 1980 to 1984. He obtained a Diploma of Teaching from Auckland College of Education (1985–1987) and taught at Koru School in Mangere (1988–1990), Bay of Islands Intermediate School in Kawakawa (1991–1993), before becoming principal of Karetu School (1994–1998). He then held employment with the Education Advisory Service (1998–1999) and the education improvement and development project Te Putahitanga Matauranga (2000). He was then principal of Kaitaia Intermediate School from 2001 to 2007.

Member of Parliament

In the 2008 general election Davis stood for Labour in the Te Tai Tokerau seat. He was defeated by the incumbent Hone Harawira of the Mana Party, but was still elected into the 49th New Zealand Parliament by way of the party list.

Kelvin Davis (born May 26, 1978, in Natchez, Mississippi) is an American boxer. He is a former IBF-champion in the Cruiserweight weight class.

Known as "Concrete", Davis, a compact pressure fighter, turned pro in 1999. He was undefeated in his first 20 fights, including a draw with veteran David Vedder (record 21-19-3) in 2001 and a points win over 37-year-old Ex IBF-titleholder Arthur Williams. He lost for the first time to little-known Ravea Springs (record 24-2).

In 2003 he got an IBF-eliminator fight against O'Neil Bell, who knocked him out.

Unimpressed by these losses the IBF put him in another eliminator with another Don King-fighter in Louis Azille. He won the fight by close decision.

In 2004 he won the vacant IBF title against hard-punching but chinny southpaw Ezra Sellars but never defended it.

In 2005 he lost by KO to Guillermo Jones and on points to undefeated Steve Cunningham.

He drew with heavyweight Charles Shufford in 2006 but was KOd by puncher Darnell Wilson in 2007.
