Kelantan FA

Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors (Malay: Pahlawan Merah Pamoga Qu Puteh) is a professional football club based in Kota Bharu, in the Malaysian state of Kelantan. The football team has played in the top tier of Malaysian football, Malaysia Super League since 2009. Founded in 1946, they have a long-standing rivalry with Terengganu, the two east coast teams involved in what is known as the East Coast Derby. Their home is the 22,000-seat Sultan Muhammad IV stadium. Kelantan's regular kit colours are red shirt and shorts with a white swathe pattern on the side.

The club had their first major success in the 2012 season, when they won the League championship, Malaysia FA Cup, and Malaysia Cup. Domestically, Kelantan have won the Malaysia Super League Championship on 2 occasions, most recently in the 2012 season, 2 Malaysia Cups, 2 Malaysia FA Cups, 1 Malaysia Charity Shield and 1 Malaysian League Division II title. 2012 was their debut playing in the AFC Cup. They played well in the group stage to gain first place. However, the team lost in the quarter final to Erbil SC.

Kelantan

Kelantan (Malay pronunciation: [kəˈlantan]; Jawi: كلنتن; Thai: กลันตัน; rtgs: Kalantan) is a state of Malaysia. The capital and royal seat is Kota Bharu. The honorific of the state is Darul Naim, (Jawi: دار النعيم, "The Blissful Abode").

Kelantan is positioned in the north-east of Peninsular Malaysia. It is bordered by Narathiwat Province of Thailand to the north, Terengganu to the south-east, Perak to the west, and Pahang to the south. To the north-east of Kelantan is the South China Sea.

Kelantan is located in the north-eastern corner of the peninsula, Kelantan, which is said to translate as the "Land of Lightning" (see alternate theories below), is an agrarian state with lush paddy fields, rustic fishing villages and casuarina-lined beaches. Kelantan is home to some of the most ancient archaeological discoveries in Malaysia, including several prehistoric aboriginal settlements.

Due to Kelantan's relative isolation and largely rural lifestyle, Kelantanese culture differs somewhat from Malay culture in the rest of the peninsula; this is reflected in the cuisine, arts, and the peculiar Kelantanese Malay language, which is unintelligible even for some speakers of standard Malay.
