Karl Hein (June 11, 1908 – July 10, 1982) was a German athlete who competed mainly in the hammer throw. Born in Hamburg, he won the gold medal at the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin, Germany. He was born and died in Hamburg.
However, Israel pressed hard for the equalizer and found it less than a quarter-hour later when Dan Biton’s scorching shot from the top of the box hit the post, caromed off Karl Hein, and into the Estonian goal to level the score at 1-1.
