Kolorah, earlier known as Kalara is a census town under Domjur police station in Sadar subdivision of Howrah district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Kalara is located at 22°35′30″N 88°11′47″E / 22.5918°N 88.19649°E / 22.5918; 88.19649 It is broadly subdivided into four zones

As of 2001 India census, Kalara had a population of 23,129. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kalara has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 60%. In Kalara, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Most of the people of kolorah are Zari worker and some are Darjee in profession they deal in Kolkata Barabazar.
