Kajri (Hindi: कजरी), a film based on real story. Though Indian cultural and religious traditions put women at a high pedestal, in reality they are subjected to all kinds of physical and mental exploitation. Women are treated as commodities and object of pleasure in a society dominated by men. Producer Jai Thakur and director Haidar Kazmi have tried to underline this social paradox in their thought provoking film Kajri. The film is based on a real life incident in Kadrava village of Bikaner district, in Rajasthan. The incident took place on 4 February 2002. It was a stark reminder of our moral degradation and the plight of rural women.
Kajri was born in village Kadrava, from Bikaner district of Rajasthan. She was a simple but vibrant child and everyone in her village adored her. Her birth had brought good luck and happiness to the village. As she grew up into a vivacious and beautiful teenager, her troubles started.
The young roadside Romeos and Ranjhas in the village longed for and lusted after her. Things come to a boil when one of the ruffians, a modern day incarnation of Ravana, spreads the falsehood that he has had physical relationship with Kajri. This creates a stir in the sleepy village and Kajri’s name and reputation is tarnished. The matter is finally brought before the village Panchayat which treats Kajri as the one in the wrong. Finally, the Panchayat, after much deliberation, puts the onus of proving her innocence on Kajri and suggests a way to do it.

Ravi Shankar's Music Festival from India was an Indian classical music revue led by sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar intended for Western concert audiences and performed in 1974. Its presentation was the first project undertaken by the Material World Charitable Foundation, set up the previous year by ex-Beatle George Harrison. Long a champion of Indian music, Harrison also produced an eponymous studio album by the Music Festival orchestra, which was released in 1976 on his Dark Horse record label. Both the CD format of the Ravi Shankar's Music Festival from India album and a DVD of their performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London were issued for the first time on the 2010 Shankar–Harrison box set Collaborations.
The sixteen members of Shankar's Music Festival from India included Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivkumar Sharma, Alla Rakha, T.V. Gopalkrishnan, L. Subramaniam, Sultan Khan and Lakshmi Shankar. Several of the musicians began successful international careers as a result of their participation, and all are recognised as being among the late twentieth century's finest exponents of Indian classical music. The ensemble played in Europe in September and October 1974 before touring North America with Harrison and his band during the final two months of the year.
I just looked myself
Straight in the eyes and saw
That I had to move
To higher places
So I took my courage
In both hands and
I pushed off the ground
With all my might
Took off from the red place
In the sky I fly
I have lost my reason
And I've made my sense
From up there I will see
Where I'm from
And where the force of love
Will tell me now to go
But why do you say
That you are lost
If you don't even try
To find yourself
My words are a stairs
I put my feet on
And I climb through
