Kaizers Orchestra was a Norwegian alternative rock group that formed on 1st of January 2000.
They are notable for being among the first non-black metal Norwegian bands or artists singing in their native language to become popular beyond Scandinavia. To other Norwegians, the band is instantly recognizable both because of their unique, unpredictable style, and because of vocalist Ottesen's distinctive Jæren dialect, shared by four of the other band members.
In 2012, the group announced that following a 2013 "Farewell Tour", they would take a long break. Their final concert was held on September 14th 2013 at DNB Arena in Stavanger, and was also streamed live online.
In 1998, childhood friends Janove Ottesen and Geir Zahl released their only album by their band gnom called Mys. Of its 1000 copies, only 500 or so were sold the first year, and they were pretty much ignored. However, they were known well in the area around Stavanger in Norway, having played as the local band Blod, snått & juling, and one of the songs they wrote after Mys called "Bastard" got good crowd response. A line from "Bastard" ("A certain Mr. Kaizer took me in/He is the proud owner of the world's heaviest siamese cat") and the song's overall crowd response became a source of inspiration for Ottesen, and after gnom dissolved after disappointing record sales, he formed Kaizers Orchestra.
250 prosent (250 percent) is a live album by Norwegian alternative rock group Kaizers Orchestra. Released exclusively on vinyl and as a digital download from various sites, the release features recordings of ten songs (with one bonus track on digital versions purchased in the iTunes Store), recorded at various concerts held during the tour for the band's fourth album, Maskineri, which lasted from February to May 2008.
The name of the album is a reference to the introduction of their organist, Helge Risa (who is seen on the cover), featured in live performances of "Kontroll på kontinentet". Risa is billed from Transylvania and is also called "Mr. 250 prosent".
To tie in with Kaizers Orchestra's upcoming tour of Europe in October and November 2008, the band wanted to release a new recording. At the start of the Maskineri tour, the band purchased a machine that records straight from the audio mixing console and the band recorded every concert they held. The band announced 250 prosent, a collection of twelve recordings from various concerts. Their original plan was to include recordings of the band's three favorite songs from each of their four albums, Ompa til du dør, Evig pint, Maestro and Maskineri. When the track list was released it was clear they had changed those plans.
Philemon Arthur & The Dung (La det vara)
Du og meg i en sang
Prøv å grav ner (prøv å grav ner) dine hemmeligheter
Alt du vil at ingen andre skal veta
Og det går år før det du sår kan voksa
Prøv å hold ut for meg då
Philemon Arthur & The Dung (La det vara)
Philemon Arthur & The Dung (La det vara)
Du og meg i en sang
Ding dong
Philemon Arthur & The Dung (La det vara)
Philemon Arthur & The Dung (La det vara)
Du og meg i en sang
