Perifosine

Perifosine (also KRX-0401) is a drug candidate being developed for a variety of cancer indications. It is an alkyl-phospholipid structurally related to miltefosine. It acts as an Akt inhibitor and a PI3K inhibitor. It was being developed by Keryx Biopharmaceuticals who have licensed it from Æterna Zentaris Inc.

In 2010 perifosine has reached phase II. In one phase II trial for metastatic colon cancer perifosine doubled time to progression.

It has orphan drug status in the U.S. for the treatment of multiple myeloma and neuroblastoma, and for multiple myeloma in the EU.

In 2011 it was in a phase III trial for colorectal cancer, and another for multiple myeloma. On April 2, 2012, it was announced that perifosine failed its phase III clinical trial for treatment of colon cancer. Detailed results were released in June 2012. Korea Exchange (KRX) is the sole securities exchange operator in South Korea. It is headquartered in Busan, and has an office for cash markets and market oversight in Seoul.

History

The Korea Exchange was created through the integration of Korea Stock Exchange, Korea Futures Exchange and KOSDAQ Stock Market under the Korea Stock & Futures Exchange Act. The securities and derivatives markets of former exchanges are now business divisions of Korea Exchange: the Stock Market Division, KOSDAQ Market Division and Derivatives Market Division. As of January 2015, Korea Exchange had 2,030 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of $1.2 trillion.Sustainable Stock Exchanges The exchange has normal trading sessions from 09:00 am to 03:15 pm on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays declared by the Exchange in advance.

On 22 May 2015, The Korea Exchange joined the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative in an event with the UN-SG Ban Ki-moon in attendance, as well as senior officials from UN Global Compact and UNCTAD.
