KRTH (101.1 FM, "K-Earth 101") is a U.S. Classic Hits radio station located in Los Angeles, California, broadcasting to the Greater Los Angeles Area. Its signal covers an extremely large area, due in part to their antenna location on Mt. Wilson, and can sometimes be heard as far south as San Diego and Tijuana, as far east as Moreno Valley, as far west as Santa Barbara and as far north as Baker, California. The station has studios on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles.
KRTH broadcasts in the HD (hybrid) format.
KRTH signed on August 11, 1941 as the first FM station in Los Angeles. The station's original call letters were K45LA, broadcasting on 44.5 Megacycles from a tower atop Mount Lee. After World War II, when the FCC mandated the 88-108 Mc. range, the station was moved to 99.7 Mc., and the call letters were changed to KHJ-FM, after its then-sister AM station KHJ. In 1948, KHJ-FM moved yet again to its current broadcast frequency of 101.1 FM, eventually relocating its transmitter to Mount Wilson.
KHJ is an AM radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California and broadcasting at 930 kHz. Owned and operated by Immaculate Heart Radio, through licensee IHR Educational Broadcasting, the station broadcasts religious Catholic programming as an affiliate of their regional radio network.
KHJ was a Top 40 station from 1965 to 1980. KHJ switched to country music in 1980 and back to pop music in 1983. In 1986 the station adopted an oldies format as KRTH. Two years later the station was sold to Liberman Broadcasting and a format of regional Mexican music aired from 1990 to November 2014. KHJ is triplexed to three of the six towers of KBLA (1580 kHz), near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street in Los Angeles. Radio station KYPA (1230 kHz) also uses two of KBLA's towers for its signal. The KHJ towers at the intersection of Venice and Fairfax Avenue were removed in February 2013.
KHJ went on the air at 720 AM on April 13, 1922. It later moved to 760 AM in response to increased interference on the AM band. The Federal Radio Commission (FRC) regulated the band in 1927-28 and reassigned KHJ to the regional-service frequency of 900 kc. with 1000 watts of power, where it remained until 1941. At that point, a reorganization of the AM band by the Federal Communications Commission (successor to the FRC) in conjunction with the North American Radio Broadcasting Agreement raised KHJ's power to 5,000 watts and moved to 930 kc. (where it continues to operate).
May bulong, dinggin mo
Ihip ng ating panahon
May sigaw, dinggin mo
At ubos na ang oras mo
Oras na, magpasiya
Kung saan ka pupunta
Oras na, oras na
Mag-iba ka ng landas
Chorus:
Tayo na sa liwanag
Ang takot ay nasa isip lamang
Tama na ang pag-aalinlangan
Ang takot ay nasa isip lamang
Kung daa'y di tiyak
Ang ulo'y laging ligaw
Damhin mo, damhin mo
Ang landas ng puso mo ...
Chorus:
Tayo na sa liwanag
Ang takot ay nasa isip lamang
Tama na ang pag-aalinlangan
Ang takot ay nasa isip lamang
Dinggin mo, damhin mo
Ang landas ng puso mo
Oras na, oras na
Magbuo ka ng pasiya ...
Chorus:
Tayo na sa liwanag
Ang takot ay nasa isip lamang
Tama na ang pag-aalinlangan
Ang takot ay nasa isip lamang
