Knight
A knight (/naɪt/) is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a monarch or other political leader for service to the Monarch or country, especially in a military capacity. Historically, in Europe, knighthood has been conferred upon mounted warriors. During the High Middle Ages, knighthood was considered a class of lower nobility. By the Late Middle Ages, the rank had become associated with the ideals of chivalry, a code of conduct for the perfect courtly Christian warrior. Often, a knight was a vassal who served as a fighter for a lord, with payment in the form of land holdings. The lords trusted the knights, who were skilled in battle on horseback. Since the early modern period, the title of knight is purely honorific, usually bestowed by a monarch, as in the British honours system, often for non-military service to the country. The modern female equivalent is Dame.
Kalekalıp KNT-308
The KNT-308 is Turkey's first completely indigenous .308 caliber (7.62mm) sniper rifle designed by Kalekalıp. KNT-308 stands for Keskin Nişancı Tüfeği 308 - Sniper Rifle 308 (caliber). Effective range of this weapon is 800 meters. It has been reported to be 20% more effective than other rifles of its class, and 30% lighter at 5.35 kilograms. It is also marketed as 30% cheaper than its counterparts. This weapon costs $2,000 but with additional accessories it can cost $15,000-20,000. The KNT-308 will reportedly be used in the ongoing conflict between Turkey and the PKK in Eastern Turkey and Northern Iraq. It was displayed at the International Defence Industry Fair in 2009.
Kennett Memorial Airport
Kennett Memorial Airport (IATA: KNT, ICAO: KTKX, FAA LID: TKX) is a city owned, public use airport located one nautical mile (1.85 km) southeast of the central business district of Kennett, a city in Dunklin County, Missouri, United States. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.
Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned TKX by the FAA and KNT by the IATA (which assigned TKX to Takaroa Airport in Takaroa, French Polynesia).
Facilities and aircraft
Kennett Memorial Airport covers an area of 337 acres (136 ha) at an elevation of 262 feet (80 m) above mean sea level. It has two runways: 2/20 is 5,000 by 75 feet (1,524 x 23 m) with a concrete surface and 18/36 is 3,012 by 75 feet (918 x 23 m) with an asphalt surface.
For the 12-month period ending June 30, 2011, the airport had 14,550 aircraft operations, an average of 39 per day: 97% general aviation, 3% air taxi, and <1% military. At that time there were 14 aircraft based at this airport: 86% single-engine and 14% multi-engine.
