KHJQ

KHJQ (93.1 FM), is a radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Concan, Texas, USA, the station is currently owned by George Chambers through licensee Radio Dalhart, Inc.

History

KHJQ broadcasts as The Buck 93.1 FM and serves as the Official Dallas Cowboy radio station for Uvalde and Real Counties. KHJQ The Buck now operates with 25,000 watts with the new transmitter located in Concan, TX. The Federal Communications Commission issued a construction permit for the station to Horizon Broadcasting, Inc. on March 28, 1997. The station was assigned the KBLT call sign on May 12, 1997, and received its license to cover on September 10, 1997. On October 23, 2000, Horizon assigned the station's license to Radio Cactus, Ltd., along with that of then-sister station KBNU.

Radio Cactus, Ltd. sold the station to current owner George Chambers' Radio Dalhart, Inc. The purchase was consummated on March 18, 2013. On May 3, 2013, the station changed its call sign to KXQK, and again on February 20, 2014 to the current KHJQ.

KFBK-FM

KFBK-FM is a news/talk formatted radio station licensed to Pollock Pines, California, serving the Sacramento, California area and broadcasts at 93.1 FM. It is owned by iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel Communications) and simulcasts KFBK (AM). The station has studios in North Sacramento near Arden Fair Mall, and its transmitter is near Placerville in unincorporated El Dorado County.

It first began broadcasting in 1981 under the call sign KSUE-FM. On June 10, 2009 the station changed its calls to KHLX.

History

The station was first assigned the call sign KSUE-FM on July 21, 1981 at 93.3 FM. On August 12, 1993, the call sign was changed to "KJDX" with a country music format. In the summer of 2008, the station was moved to the 93.3 FM frequency in Pollock Pines. On November 11, 2008, Sierra Broadcasting swapped call signs and formats between KHJQ, which had moved from 92.3 FM in Susanville to the 93.3 FM frequency vacated by the station, and KJDX. This brought KJDX back to the 93.3 FM frequency in Susanville.
