KFLX
KFLX (92.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a 80's hits format. Licensed to Chino Valley, Arizona, USA, it serves the Flagstaff-Prescott area. The station is currently owned by Grenax Broadcasting II, LLC.
History
KFLX signed on the air in January 1989 by Standard Communications of Dallas who also owned KSLX-FM in nearby Phoenix which is now owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, KBLX-FM in San Francisco now owned by Entercom Communications and KPLX in Dallas owned by Cumulus Media. In 1993, Standard sold their stations, including KFLX, to Pfaltzgraff Broadcasting, who also owned KTCK in Dallas, KFOG in San Francisco, WARM in York, and WMOJ & WRRM in Cincinnati. Pfaltzgraff intended to move the station to Mayer, Arizona and target it to the Phoenix area, but once it was clear such a move would not occur, the station was sold again, this time to Flagstaff United. In turn, Flagstaff United was bought by Red Rock Communications later in 1993. Red Rock Communications continued to own the station until it and sisters KWMX-FM and KSED-FM were sold in 2007 to Grenax Broadcasting II, LLC who also owned WCFX in Mount Pleasant, MI.
