K. E. Ismail

K.E. Ismail a politician from Communist Party of India is a Member of the Parliament of India representing Kerala in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He was Revenue minister in Kerala State during 1996 to 2001. He represented Pattambi constituency in Kerala Legislature Assembly during the periods of 1982 to 1987, 1991 to 1996 and 1996 to 2001. Presently he is the Assistant Secretary of C.P.I. Kerala State Committee.

Keuffel and Esser

The Keuffel and Esser Co., also known as K & E, was a drafting instrument and supplies company founded in 1867 by German immigrants William J. D. Keuffel and Herman Esser. It was the first American company to specialize in these products.

History

Keuffel and Esser started out in New York and sold drawing materials and drafting supplies. In 1876, K & E started selling surveying instruments. A four-story Keuffel and Esser Manufacturing Complex in Hoboken, New Jersey was completed four years later, and K & E was incorporated in 1889. In 1892, the company commissioned a building for their showroom and offices at 127 Fulton Street in Manhattan from the architecture firm of De Lomos & Cordes, who designed an 8-story brick and terra cotta building in the Renaissance Revival style. The building was completed in 1893, and the company occupied it until 1961. It was designated a New York City landmark in 2005.

In the first decade of the 20th century, Keuffel and Esser introduced another, new line of surveying instruments based on the work of John Paoli, an Italian immigrant in Hoboken. A new Keuffel and Esser Manufacturing Complex was built in 1906. The building was converted to housing in 1975, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 12, 1985.

Křeč (Pelhřimov District)

Křeč is a village and municipality (obec) in Pelhřimov District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.

The municipality covers an area of 10.4 square kilometres (4.0 sq mi), and has a population of 225 (as at 3 July 2006).

Křeč lies approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) west of Pelhřimov, 49 km (30 mi) west of Jihlava, and 87 km (54 mi) south-east of Prague.

KE 101 is the second studio album by the American Industrial metal band Crossbreed, released on September 15, 2009 through Driven Music Group. KE 101 strays even further from the nu metal beginnings of Crossbreed, developing their own industrial style.

Nannerl Notenbuch

The Nannerl Notenbuch, or Notenbuch für Nannerl (English: Nannerl's Music Book) is a book in which Leopold Mozart, from 1759 to about 1764, wrote pieces for his daughter, Maria Anna Mozart (known as "Nannerl"), to learn and play. His son Wolfgang also used the book, in which his earliest compositions were recorded (some penned by his father). The book contains simple short keyboard (typically harpsichord) pieces, suitable for beginners; there are many anonymous minuets, some works by Leopold, and a few other composers including Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and the Austrian composer Georg Christoph Wagenseil. There are also some technical exercises, a table of intervals, and some modulating figured basses. The notebook originally contained 48 bound pages of music paper, but only 36 pages remain, with some of the missing 12 pages identified in other collections.

Description of the Notenbuch

Originally the Notenbuch was a bound volume comprising forty-eight pages of blank music paper, with eight staves on each page. Inscribed with the words Pour le clavecin (French: For the harpsichord), it was presented to Nannerl on the occasion of her eighth name day on 26 July 1759 (or possibly her eighth birthday, which fell on the 30th or 31st day of the same month). Over the course of the next four years or so, the notebook was gradually filled with pieces written out by Leopold and two or three anonymous Salzburg copyists. Wolfgang is thought to have written out four pieces. Curiously none of the pieces was inscribed by Nannerl herself.

Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman"

Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman", K. 265/300e, is a piano composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed when he was around 25 years old (1781 or 1782). This piece consists of twelve variations on the French folk song "Ah! vous dirai-je, maman". The French melody first appeared in 1761, and has been used for many children's songs, such as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" and the "Alphabet Song".

Music

This work was composed for solo piano and consists of 13 sections: the first section is the theme, the other sections are Variations I to XII. Only Variations XI and XII have tempo indications, Adagio and Allegro respectively.

Composition date

For a time, it was thought that these Variations were composed in 1778, while Mozart stayed in Paris from April to September in that year, the assumption being that the melody of a French song could only have been picked up by Mozart while residing in France. For this presumed composition date, the composition was renumbered from K. 265 to K. 300e in the chronological catalogue of Mozart's compositions. Later analysis of Mozart's manuscript of the composition by Wolfgang Plath rather indicated 1781/1782 as the probable composition date.
