Jyeshtha[1] (Sanskrit: ज्येष्ठ{{#invoke:Namespace detect|main}} , Nepali: जेठ jeṭ jeth or ज्येष्ठ jyeṣṭh) is a month of the Hindu calendar. In India's national civil calendar, Jyestha is the third month of the year.

In lunar religious calendars, Jyeshtha begins on the new moon and is the third month of the year.[2]

Traditionally, Jyeshtha is associated with high summer, and corresponds to June-July in the Gregorian calendar. In Tamil, the month is known as Aani, the third month of the solar calendar that begins in mid-June.

In solar religious calendars, Jyeshtha/Aani begins with the Sun's entry into Gemini, and is the third month of the year. In the Vaishnava calendar, Trivikrama governs this month.
