Just Push Play

Just Push Play is the 13th studio album by American rock band Aerosmith. It was released on March 6, 2001, making it the first Aerosmith album of the 21st century. The album was co-produced by song collaborators Marti Frederiksen and Mark Hudson. The album's first single, "Jaded", became a major Top 10 hit in the U.S. and around the world. As a result, Just Push Play was certified platinum within a month of its release. Subsequent singles "Fly Away from Here", "Sunshine", and "Just Push Play", though garnering some airplay, failed to impact the Hot 100 much, although the latter two charted on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and the former charted on the Adult Top 40.

In 2010, guitarist Joe Perry revealed his distaste for the album, stating that:

The album's cover features a gynoid resembling Marilyn Monroe and was designed by Hajime Sorayama.

In 2011, drummer Joey Kramer answered some questions about the album during a fan "Q & A", revealing that he does not like the cover, and that he thought the playing on the album was superb.

Just Push Play (song)

"Just Push Play" is the title track from American rock band Aerosmith's 2001 album Just Push Play. The song was written by Steven Tyler, Mark Hudson, and Steve Dudas. It was released as a promotional single from Just Push Play in 2001, and peaked at #10 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and #38 on the Top 40 Mainstream chart.

Song structure

The song is known for its distorted guitars, use of synthesizers (especially with drums and lyrics), and Steven Tyler's scat singing. The chorus of the song also features the phrase "fuckin' A" which is bleeped out through use of a turntable for much of the song; until the end, when the expletive can actually be heard a few times. The radio remix bleeps this out. The song also features a reference to "Walk This Way".

In other media

The song was performed heavily on Aerosmith's Just Push Play Tour and was also featured in Dodge Ram commercials, during the band's 2001 partnership with the car company. The song was also played during Aerosmith's performance at the historic United We Stand: What More Can I Give benefit concert in October 2001. The track was also included in Aerosmith's 2002 career-spanning compilation O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits, but was a radio-edit version of the track instead of the original.

Push Play

Push Play was an American pop/rock band formed on Long Island, NY in 2006. The band consisted of CJ Baran (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards), Steve Scarola (lead guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Nick DeTurris (bass) and Derek Ries (drums). The band originally found independent success by utilizing social networks, new media, touring, and distributing their own music on various digital vendors including iTunes. Their charitable efforts were nationally recognized through the Push Play for Purpose campaign, a commitment to donate free performances in effort to raise funds for a multitude of charities. Push Play eventually signed to record label Wind-up Records in June 2009, where they released the album Found. In April 2010, the band announced they were parting ways to pursue personal goals, ending their four years as a band.

Music

Push Play's first self-released album Deserted, was made available in 2007.Deserted remained on the chart for multiple weeks throughout December 2007. Dear Santa, the band's second self-release was a 10-track, limited-edition, Christmas album made available on November 28, 2008 during the band's performance at the Patchogue Theatre. In June 2009, Push Play landed a record deal with Wind-up Records. The band immediately began recording their debut album as a signed act. The album's first single "Midnight Romeo" received national radio airplay and reached No. 37 on the mainstream Top 40 radio chart. The full-length album Found was released nationwide on September 29, 2009 and soon after landed on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart.

Clarity (Zedd album)

Clarity is the debut studio album by Russian-German electronic music producer Zedd, released on 5 October 2012 by Interscope Records. A deluxe edition of the album was released on 24 September 2013, preceded by the release of the single "Stay the Night", which features Hayley Williams of Paramore, on 10 September 2013. Upon its release, the album garnered mixed reviews from critics.

Clarity spawned five officially-released singles ("Shave It", "Spectrum" and "Clarity" for the original release, and "Stay the Night" and "Push Play" for the deluxe edition) and two promotional singles, "Stache" and "Fall Into the Sky". "Shave It", the album's lead single, peaked at number four on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart. It was followed by "Spectrum", which topped the Hot Dance Club Songs chart. "Clarity", the record's title track and third single, was issued in 2013, and reached into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 at number eight. "Stay the Night" was the lead single of the deluxe edition of the album, and also charted on the Hot 100, reaching the Top 20 with a peak of number eighteen. "Push Play" was the second single from the deluxe version, and the last single from the album overall.
