Jump! (TV series)

Jump! (跳浪) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which aired on MediaCorp Channel U in May 2012. It was aired on weekdays in the 10pm time slot. The series features Taiwan-based Singaporean singer Wong Jing Lun in his acting debut.

Plot

Xiao Chunli is a Chinese teacher at Blue Sky Secondary School, neighbourhood school notorious for its rock-bottom results and delinquency. Her efforts to help her students are hampered by Mr Yan, the school principal who cares more about KPIs than the students themselves. One of the teachers Xu Dele is a master with the skipping rope and he begins recruiting students to participate in a double dutch competition. Much to Miss Xiao and Mr Xu's frustration, several of the more problematic students or those rejected by other CCAs are "dumped" into the team.

Mr Xu and his students embark on a quest to win a medal at the competition. The students learn some valuable lessons about life and teamwork along the way.

Jump! (film)

Jump! is a 2008 British-Austrian drama film written and directed by Joshua Sinclair. It starred Ben Silverstone, Patrick Swayze and Martine McCutcheon. It was loosely based on the real-life Halsman murder case. The film was premiered on the 2009 Jewish Film Festival in June 2009. Swayze was unable to attend due to pancreatic cancer.

Synopsis

Set in Austria, in 1928, with the spectre of Nazism on the rise, a young Jew, Philippe Halsman, is accused of patricide after his father's death during a hike through the Alps. His strained relationship with his father, and the apparent evidence that he has been struck on the head with a rock, point towards the son's guilt. Halsman is put on trial, in Innsbruck, where his case is taken up by one of the country's leading lawyers.

Jump is a 2012 Northern Irish mystery drama film based on the stage play of the same name by Lisa McGee.

Plot

The plot revolves around Greta Feeney (Burley), who intends to commit suicide on New Year's Eve, and the interplay of her friends, and her gangster father. The story is framed by a voice-over narrative by Greta.

Janet Woollacott

Janet Edith Woollacott (Carlton, England (1939-11-04)4 November 1939 – Clamart, Hauts-de-Seine 13 November 2011(2011-11-13)) was a British-born French singer of the 1960s to 2000s.

Biography

Woollacott was a dancer on the Cote d'Azur aged 20 when she met Cloclo, Claude François in 1959, they married the following year. Only weeks before François became a major star Woollacott left Cloclo for Gilbert Bécaud, with whom she had a daughter, Jennifer Bécaud. The split was the subject of Claude François' bitter song "Je sais" (1964). Woollacott later wrote a book detailing the time shared with François. François never remarried and died in 1978.

In later years she remarried three more times; to the producer Jean-Paul Barkoff, the Charlot comedian Jean Sarrus and the composer Dominique Perrier. From 1994, she collaborated with Stone Edge, later renamed to Stone Age, the French/Breton Celtic techno band formed by her husband Dominique Perrier, with which she regularly performed and recorded songs, appearing on the band's best known album, "Time Travellers", as "Maureen" (1997).

JANET

Janet is a private, UK government-funded organisation, which provides computer network and related collaborative services to UK research and education. All further- and higher-education organisations in the UK are connected to the Janet network, as are all the Research Councils; the majority of these sites are connected via 20 metropolitan area networks across the UK (though Janet refers to these as Regional Networks, emphasising that Janet connections are not just confined to a metropolitan area). The network also carries traffic between schools within the UK, although many of the schools' networks maintain their own general Internet connectivity. The name was originally a contraction of Joint Academic NETwork but it is now known as Janet in its own right.

The network is linked to other European and worldwide NRENs through GEANT and peers extensively with other ISPs at Internet Exchange Points in the UK. Any other networks are reached via transit services from commercial ISPs using Janet's Peering Policy.
