Jump5

Jump5 was an American dance-pop/contemporary Christian music group.

History

Formation (1999-2000)

Siblings Brandon Hargest and Brittany Hargest had competed on the same dance team as Lesley Moore, and were familiar with Chris Fedun and Libby Hodges through the competitive dance circuit. The mother of Hodges held an open casting call to find additional members to form a new pop group with her daughter, and the Hargest siblings along with Fedun and Moore were selected. The group was originally known as Jump Start, but the name was changed to Jump5 due to trademark conflicts. Norman Miller, the group's would-be manager, went to see the group perform and immediately referred them to Sparrow Records.

Early years (2001-2003)

Jump5 released their self-titled debut album on August 14, 2001. The album was re-released twice, first with an additional bonus track, then with a cover of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" after the September 11th attacks. Over the following two years they released three more albums: All the Time in the World, a Christmas album entitledAll the Joy in the World and Accelerate.

Jump5 (album)

Jump5 is the self-titled debut album from Christian pop group Jump5. It was released on August 14, 2001 through Sparrow Records. Two re-releases followed: the first featured the "Start Jumpin'" bonus track targeted towards Christian audiences, while the second featured a Radio Disney-targeted version of "Start Jumpin'" with different lyrics plus a cover of Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA to remember the lives lost after the September 11th attacks. A portion of sales from the second re-release was donated to families who lost a loved one during the attacks on September 11, 2001.

"Spinnin' Around" was released as the album's lead Radio Disney single. A music video for this song was also filmed for release on VHS and DVD. The Radio Disney versions of "Start Jumpin'" and "God Bless the USA" were both released for airplay on Radio Disney. The latter single became a #1 hit on that radio network.

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

by: Jump5

Rockin' around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Everybody tries to stop
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
And we'll do some caroling
You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear
Voices singing let's be jolly
Deck the halls with bows of holly
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancing merrily
In the new old fashion way
(This song shares with Jingle Bell Rock so€)
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing, have bushels of fun
That's the jingle bell rock, rock, rock
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in jingle bell square
In the frosty air
What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go gliding in a one horse sleigh
Giddiup jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and mingle in the jingling beat
That's the jingle bell rock
Mix and mingle in the jingling beat
That's the jingle bell, that's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell rock
