Jukebox (JLS album)
Jukebox is the third and penultimate studio album by English boy band JLS, released on 11 November 2011 through Epic Records. The album's release was preceded by the lead single "She Makes Me Wanna", which debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2011, and the second single, "Take a Chance on Me", released on 4 November 2011. The single charted at number 2 in the charts. The album was issued in four exclusive different editions through music retailer HMV, each containing a slipcase portraying a different member of the band on the artwork.
Background
The band began recording their third studio album in April 2011, and stated that they had co-written 16 tracks that could possibly appear. In June 2011, the band announced that they had finished recording the album, and that out of a possible 30 songs, had to decide which tracks would appear on the album. The band stated at the time that they had been recording collaborations with Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Usher and Craig David - however, none of these appear on the album. The album's lead single, "She Makes Me Wanna", a collaboration with American singer Dev, was released on 24 July 2011, peaking at #1 on the UK Singles Chart and de-throning fellow boyband The Wanted's second number one single, "Glad You Came". The album's second single, "Take A Chance On Me", was premiered on 20 September, with band member Oritse commenting, "It's the most personal song we've ever done." The group will tour the United Kingdom in 2012 promoting the album, with more than 20 dates confirmed for their 4th Dimension Tour, due to start in March 2012.

JLS is the debut studio album by English boy band JLS. It was released in the UK on 9 November 2009 by Epic Records. It was preceded by the lead single, "Beat Again" on 13 July 2009. The album debuted at number-one in the UK and Ireland. It has been certified four times platinum in the UK, where it was the sixth best-selling album of 2009.
In the US, the album was issued as a six track EP featuring their three UK singles, their new single "The Club Is Alive" and two other tracks from the UK version of the album. This version was released on 2 August 2010, but failed to chart.

Album
Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, then from 1948 as vinyl LP records played at 33 1⁄3 rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century albums sales have mostly focused on compact disc (CD) and MP3 formats. The audio cassette was a format used in the late 1970s through to the 1990s alongside vinyl.
An album may be recorded in a recording studio (fixed or mobile), in a concert venue, at home, in the field, or a mix of places. Recording may take a few hours to several years to complete, usually in several takes with different parts recorded separately, and then brought or "mixed" together. Recordings that are done in one take without overdubbing are termed "live", even when done in a studio. Studios are built to absorb sound, eliminating reverberation, so as to assist in mixing different takes; other locations, such as concert venues and some "live rooms", allow for reverberation, which creates a "live" sound. The majority of studio recordings contain an abundance of editing, sound effects, voice adjustments, etc. With modern recording technology, musicians can be recorded in separate rooms or at separate times while listening to the other parts using headphones; with each part recorded as a separate track.

Reception
Initial critical response to Album was extremely positive. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has received an average score of 80, based on 22 reviews.Album was awarded the fifth spot on Spin Magazine's best albums of 2009 list and 10th on Pitchfork Media's "The Top 50 Albums of 2009" list.

Jukebox is the debut studio album by American pop singer-songwriter Priscilla Renea. It was released on December 1, 2009. The album was critically acclaimed and spawned two singles: "Dollhouse", which garnered mild success, and "Lovesick", which failed to chart altogether.
Background
Six out of the eleven songs on the album were solely written by Renea. Renea wrote many songs like stories, by beginning with the verses and working on a chorus later, in order to make the songs more soulful and heartfelt. Renea performs many of the guitar and piano pieces of her songs herself. The album was originally due for an October 20, 2009, release but it was delayed by over a month for additional recording to occur for the album.
Critical reception
The album received generally positive reviews from critics. Ivan Mitchell of Prefixmag called the album "abstract" stating: "lead single 'Dollhouse' is the kind of sassy, exuberant pop/rock/R&B hybrid that Rihanna would have probably done earlier in her career". He goes on to say that "'Fixing My Hair' finds common ground with the flashy torch soul productions of the 1980s". Latifah Muhammad of ConcreteLoop stated that the album was "a delightful hybrid of poetic expression garnished with life lessons". She goes on to say that "the theme of Jukebox revolves around the old saying 'you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar' in that it manages to get a point across in a softer tone rather than boisterous and overbearing. Even though nothing really manages to ride above a steady boil, that's not always a bad thing. Jukebox is a pretty smooth ride null of any huge potholes or blunders, which is admirable and worth a good listen".
