Juice

Juice is a liquid (drink) that is naturally contained in fruit and vegetables. It can also refer to liquids that are flavored with these or other biological food sources such as meat and seafood. It is commonly consumed as a beverage or used as an ingredient or flavoring in foods. It is also a common practice to mix juices of different fruits/vegetables. Juice did not emerge as a popular beverage choice until the development of pasteurization methods allowed for the preservation of juice without fermentation. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) estimated the total world production of citrus fruit juices to be 12,840,318 tonnes in 2012.

Preparation

Juice is prepared by mechanically squeezing or macerating (sometimes referred to as cold pressed) fruit or vegetable flesh without the application of heat or solvents. For example, orange juice is the liquid extract of the fruit of the orange tree, and tomato juice is the liquid that results from pressing the fruit of the tomato plant. Juice may be prepared in the home from fresh fruit and vegetables using a variety of hand or electric juicers.

Juice (Juice Newton album)

Juice is the multi-Platinum 1981 breakthrough album by American country-rock singer Juice Newton. The album was Newton's third solo album and her first major international success.

Hits

The album features two #1 hits "Angel of the Morning" and "The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)". It also contains "Queen of Hearts," the biggest-selling single of Juice Newton's career, which peaked at #2 on both Billboard's Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts ("Endless Love" by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie prevented the song from reaching #1). "Queen of Hearts" was a popular music video during the summer of MTV's debut. Newton would go on to have more hit songs and albums, but this remains the album for which she is best known.

Awards

Juice garnered Juice Newton two "Best Female Vocalist" Grammy Award nominations (in the Pop and Country categories, respectively) neither of which she won. But she did win her first Grammy for her follow-up album Quiet Lies.

Greatest Hits

In 1984, a fourth track from Juice titled "Ride 'Em Cowboy" was released in support of Newton's first "Greatest Hits" album. The single reached #32 on the U.S. Billboard Country charts.

Juice 107.2

Juice 107.2 is an Independent Local Radio station based in Brighton, UK, playing MOR dance music, pop music and commercial classics. It also has a sister station—the internet radio station Totally Radio and regularly features the shows Unfold and Dugout, which feature DJs and artists from the Tru Thoughts independent record label. The station's broadcast area covers the city of Brighton and Hove and its suburbs, and towns along the English Channel coast as far as Worthing.

History

Juice was founded as Surf 107 in June 1997, when the Radio Authority licensed Brighton and Hove Radio Ltd to broadcast on a commercial basis to the Brighton and Hove area. Writer and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe was the director of the company, and various local companies held shares in it. The first transmission was on 27 March 1998, and a year later the station was recognised with a Sony Award.

Juice (Headless Chickens song)

"Juice" is a single by New Zealand rock band Headless Chickens released in 1992. The single was originally titled "Dreamchild", having been written and performed by Fiona McDonald for the Strawpeople. When McDonald later joined the Headless Chickens, the song was reworked and renamed "Juice". The song peaked at #7 on the New Zealand Singles Chart.

A bar (also known as a saloon or a tavern or sometimes a pub or club, referring to the actual establishment, as in pub bar or club bar etc.) is a retail business establishment that serves alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine, liquor, cocktails, and other beverages like mineral water and soft drinks and often sell snack foods, like crisps or peanuts, for consumption on premises. Some types of bars, such as pubs, may also serve food from a restaurant menu.

Bars provide stools or chairs that are placed at tables or counters for their patrons. Some bars have entertainment such as a live band, Bars that offer entertainment or live music are often referred to as music bars, live venues, or nightclubs. Types of bars range from inexpensive dive bars to elegant places of entertainment often accompanying restaurants for dining.

Many bars have a discount period, designated a "happy hour" to encourage off-peak-time patronage. Bars that fill to capacity sometimes implement a cover charge or a minimum drink purchase requirement during their peak hours. Bars may have bouncers to ensure patrons are of legal age, to eject drunk or fighting patrons, and to collect cover charges. Such bars often feature entertainment, which may be a live band, vocalist, comedian, or disc jockey playing recorded music.

Bar (TV Slovenia)

Bar is a reality show aired by the commercial television station POP TV, in which contestants live in the same house for three months and compete against each other to see who can run a bar the best. With a small payment, viewers can follow the events of the show live on the show's website, as more than 20 cameras follow the everyday lives of the contestants. POP TV plays a recap of the day's events every evening except Sundays.

Each Wednesday, competitors rate each other's performance by assigning each other either pluses or minuses. The competitor who receives the most minuses, and the contestant chosen by the one with the most pluses, find themselves in the "hot seat" and must compete against each other on Saturday night. Viewers vote by telephone which one of the contestants will remain in the show. The competitor with the lowest number of votes must leave the bar. The bar manager directs the competitors.

Competitors have run the local AS Lounge in Knafelj underpass in Ljubljana. The bar manager was Gaber Žgavc, the host is Bastjan Kepic .

Bar is the local season of the reality The Bar in Czech Republic. The show was started on 9 July 2006 and finished on 2 September 2006, with a duration of 56 days. TV Prima is the channel was aired. The presenters are Libor Bouček & Laďka Něrgešová.
