Juab County, Utah

Juab County /ˈdʒuːæb/ is a county located in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 census, the population was 10,246. Its county seat and largest city is Nephi. The county was named from a Native American word meaning thirsty valley, or possibly only valley.

Juab County is part of the Provo–Orem, UT Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Salt Lake City-Provo-Orem, UT Combined Statistical Area.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,406 square miles (8,820 km²), of which 3,392 square miles (8,790 km²) is land and 14 square miles (36 km²) (0.4%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8,238 people, 2,456 households, and 1,981 families residing in the county. The population density was 2 people per square mile (1/km²). There were 2,810 housing units at an average density of 1 per square mile (0/km²). The racial makeup of the county was 96.56% White, 0.15% Black or African American, 1.02% Native American, 0.34% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.86% from other races, and 1.02% from two or more races. 2.63% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
