Josh Brookes

Josh Brookes (born Joshua Brookes, 28 April 1983 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) is a professional motorcycle road racer. He has experience of Superbike and Supersport racing, both domestically and internationally. In 2016 he will race a BMW S1000RR in the Superbike World Championship.

During 2015 he raced a Milwaukee Yamaha YZF-R1, winning the British Superbike Championship at the final round of the season at Brands Hatch. In the last race of the event, Brookes hit the inside kerb of a bend and slid off, but had already amassed sufficient points to win the Championship in the first of three races at the venue, so he re-joined the track for a lap after the race to wave to spectators.

Early career

In 2004 he won the World Supersport round at Philip Island as a wild card, before a serious crash ruined his year. He returned to win Australia's Superbike and Supersport titles in 2005 on a Honda.

World Supersport and Superbike 2006–08

He then moved to World Supersport with a Caracchi Ducati for 2006, but left the team mid-season despite a 6th place at his home round. Brookes was soon racing again however, joining Bertocchi Kawasaki in the Superbike World Championship, debuting on the bike at the Italian round at Mugello. He ran 4th in a wet race in the Netherlands before falling, but generally struggled, as it was his first time living in Europe, mostly on circuits he did not know.

The fourth season of The X Factor Australia was broadcast on the Seven Network. It premiered on 20 August 2012 and ended on 20 November 2012. The show consisted of several stages: auditions, super bootcamp, home visits and live shows. During the home visits stage, twelve finalists were selected and split into four categories. Each category was mentored by one of the show's four judges. Mel B mentored the Under 25 Boys,Natalie Bassingthwaighte had the Under 25 Girls,Guy Sebastian was given the Over 25s and Ronan Keating mentored the Groups.Samantha Jade was declared the winner, with Sebastian emerging as the winning mentor for the second year in a row.

Josh Brookes

Josh Brookes was a 20-year-old contestant from Perth, Western Australia, who auditioned for The X Factor singing Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven". Brookes began singing at age of ten as a way of coping with his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. During high school, he attended Mindarie Senior College. Brookes originally auditioned for the third season of The X Factor in 2011, but was eliminated during the bootcamp round to Johnny Ruffo. He stated that his "failure" to make it past bootcamp inspired him to audition again. Brookes cites Usher and Drake as his musical influences.
