José Torres

José ("Chegüi") Torres (May 3, 1936 – January 19, 2009), was a Puerto Rican professional boxer. As an amateur boxer, he won a silver medal in the junior middleweight at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. In 1965, he defeated Willie Pastrano to win the WBC and WBA light heavyweight championships. Torres trained with the legendary boxing trainer Cus D'Amato. In 1997, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Amateur career

Born in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Torres began boxing when he joined the U.S. Army as a teenager (he was 17 years old). His only amateur titles had come in Army and Inter-Service championships, several of which he had won. Torres was still in the Army when he won the Silver Medal in the light middleweight division at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, where he lost to László Papp of Hungary in the final.

Torres trained at the Empire Sporting Club in New York City with trainer Cus D'Amato.

He was the 1958 National AAU Middleweight Champion and also won the 1958 New York Golden Gloves 160 lb Open Championship.

José Torres (born 16 July 1889, date of death unknown) was a Chilean cyclist. He competed in two events at the 1912 Summer Olympics.

José Torres (born 1982) is an Puerto Rican professional wrestler, who is working in World Wrestling League (WWL) under the ring name Monster Pain. He is the reigning WWL Extreme Champion. Under his previous ring name Black Pain, Torres is a one-time World Wrestling Council (WWC) Universal Heavyweight and two-time World Tag Team Champion with his partner Hannibal. Their team was known as Terror Incorporated and they were managed by Rico Suave.

Singles Run (2004-2006)

In 2004, Torres under the name Black Pain made his debut for World Wrestling Council (WWC). After La Amenaza Bryan was stripped of the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship, Black Pain won the vacant title by defeating Lance Hoyt in the finals of a tournament. He lost the title to La Amenaza Bryan on August 12, 2006 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico

Terror Inc. And Departure (2006-2008)

On November 23, 2006, Pain and Hannibal, collectively known as Terror Inc. defeated The New Starr Corporation (Huracán Castillo and Chris Joel) to win the WWC World Tag Team Championship. They lost the titles to Noriega and Chris Joel on January 20, 2007. On March 17, 2007, Terror Inc. won back the titles from Chris Joel and Noriega. They lost the titles again to Juventud Rebelde (Chris Joel and Noriega).

José Torres Laboy

José Torres Laboy (born September 8, 1971 in Salinas) is a Puerto Rican sport shooter. He won a silver medal in the men's double trap at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, accumulating a score of 185 targets (136 in the qualifying round and 49 in the final).

At age 40, Torres held his distinction of being the oldest member of the Puerto Rican team to be selected for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he competed in the men's double trap. He scored a total of 127 targets in the qualifying rounds by one point ahead of U.S. shooter and defending Olympic champion Walton Eller, finishing only in twenty-first place.

Yeison Asencio (born November 14, 1989) is a Dominican professional baseball player in the San Diego Padres organization.

Asencio signed with the Padres as an international free agent in 2009. He used false documents to sign, going by the name "Yoan Alcantra", to portray himself as 2 ¹⁄₂ years younger than he actually was. The Padres added him to their 40-man roster after the 2012 season. In 2013, Asencio represented the Padres at the All-Star Futures Game. Asencio was designated for assignment on November 20, 2014.

Carlos Asuaje

Carlos Asuaje [ah-soo-ah'-hay] (born November 2, 1991) is a Venezuelan infielder, playing mainly as a third baseman in the San Diego Padres Minor League system. Asuaje was selected by the Red Sox in the 11th round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Nova Southeastern University in Broward County, Florida. He came to terms on a contract calling for a reported bonus of $100,000.
