Jordan Taylor (basketball)

Jordan Michael Taylor (born September 30, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Alba Berlin of the German Bundesliga.

High school career

Named Minnesota Mr. Basketball as a senior, averaging 22.3 points and 7.1 assists per game. Led Benilde-St. Margaret's to the Minnesota state Class AAA title in 2008 and was a 2-time all-state and 4-time all-conference honoree. He is also the All-time leading scorer in Benilde-St. Margaret's history with 2,068 points over his career. Took his school to a runner-up finish as a junior, earning North Suburban Conference MVP and Class AAA All-Tournament that year and averaged 19.5 points, 6.2 assists and 5.5 rebounds as a junior. Was named honorable mention all-state as a sophomore. Was a member of the National Honor Society and earned the Minnesota State High School League Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.

Collegiate career

Taylor was one of eleven finalists for the 2011 Bob Cousy Award which is given to the nation's top point guard.

Jordan Taylor (softball)

Jordan Taylor (born October 24, 1988) is an American, former collegiate All-American, right-handed softball pitcher originally from Valencia, California. She played for the Michigan Wolverines softball team from 2008–2011, Team USA, in the National Pro Fastpitch and is currently on the U.S. Women's Futures national softball team. She is the Big Ten Conference career strikeouts leader and held the wins mark, and also ranks in records for the Wolverines and in the NCAA Division I.

Valencia

Taylor played high school softball at Valencia High School in Valencia, California. As a Senior in 2007, she compiled a perfect record of 32-0, setting the record for "the best record in state history." During the 2007 season, she threw 24 shutouts and four no-hitters and allowed only six earned runs in 216 innings pitched for a 0.19 ERA. She also struck out 406 batters for an average of 13.2 strikeouts per seven innings. During her high school career at Valencia, Taylor had a record of 77-8 with an 0.27 ERA and 1,055 strikeouts in 579.1 innings. She was selected as the 2007 National High School Coaches Player of The Year while playing for Valencia. Also as a Senior, Taylor set the California state record for most wins in a week with 10.

Jordan Taylor (racing driver)

Jordan Taylor (born May 10, 1991) is an American professional racing driver. He currently competes in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Wayne Taylor Racing. He won the 2013 Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototypes class and was 2014 United SportsCar Championship Prototypes class runner-up. Also he won the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans GTE-Pro class in a Chevrolet Corvette C7.R.

He is the son of sports car veteran Wayne Taylor, and has raced with brother Ricky Taylor.

Racing career

Born in Orlando, Taylor began his career in professional sports car racing in 2008, competing in the 24 Hours of Daytona and finishing 15th. His first full season came in 2010. In 2013 he joined Wayne Taylor Racing, a team owned by his father, sports car veteran Wayne Taylor, co-driving with Max Angelelli. He and Angelelli teamed to win the 2013 Rolex Sports Car Series' Daytona Prototype championship, the final Grand American Road Racing Association championship before the merger of American Le Mans Series and Grand-Am, winning five races including the last three of the season consecutively. Previously, Taylor competed in the GT class, winning two races for Autohaus Motorsports. Taylor has also competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2012 in the GTE-Pro class for Corvette Racing.

Jordan Village, Connecticut

Jordan is a village in the town of Waterford, Connecticut, and the historic center of the town. It was named from the Jordan River. The village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Jordan Village Historic District in 1990. The district includes 58 contributing buildings and one other contributing site over an area of 57 acres (23 ha). It includes examples of Greek Revival and Queen Anne architectural styles.

Location

Jordan Village is located on land known historically as Jordan Plain, a flat land area at the head of Jordan Cove, an estuary off Long Island Sound. The historic district surrounds the intersection of Rope Ferry Road and North Road.

Jordan (Bishop of Poland)

Jordan (died in 982 or 984) was the first Bishop of Poland from 968 with his seat, most probably, in Poznań. He was an Italian or German.

Most evidence shows that he was missionary bishop subordinate directly to the Pope. He arrived in Poland, probably from Italy or the Rhineland, in 966 with Doubravka of Bohemia to baptise Mieszko I of Poland. After the death of Jordan until 992 the throne of the Bishop of Poland was vacant, or there was a bishop of unknown name (the first theory is more probable). His successor, from 992, was Unger.

Jordan 198

The Jordan 198 was the car with which the Jordan Formula One team used to compete in the 1998 Formula One season. It was driven by 1996 World Champion Damon Hill, who had moved from Arrows, and Ralf Schumacher, who was in his second season with the team.

After a dismal start which saw the team fail to score a single championship point in the first half of the season, numerous improvements to the car and tyre development by Goodyear enabled Jordan to climb back into the top teams. At the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix, the team scored a historic first victory with Hill, with Schumacher finishing behind him in second place. The team finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship, one ahead of Benetton.
