Jonathan N Dixon

Jonathan N Dixon (born 14 January 1972) is an Australian film director, producer and writer. He has directed and produced the 2011 feature horror film Wrath, the comedy Pictocrime (2004), which won best international feature and the LA film festival and shorts Body in the Trunk (2006) and Phillip (2007).

Early life

Dixon was born in Bath, UK to an artist and painter and vintage car restorer. He moved with his family to Andalusia, Spain when he was seven years old. Studying art and design he began working as a graphic artist and moved to Australia in his late teens.

Career

After graduating from Art college, Dixon began his career in marketing by working for a Japanese publishing house and spent time in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. After several years he returned to Australia and hired a small film studio where he wrote, directed, edited, produced, and animated, "Force Five" a stop animation film. "Force Five" followed five secret agents who where part of C.E.N.T.E.R (Central Enforcement Network Targeting Evil Rogues) who would parachute into southern Bavaria during WW2 in order to kill the head of O.C.T.O (Official Crime & Terror Organisation). Dixon built the sets and designed the miniature characters by using remote control technology with mini servers in the characters heads. The movie was shot on a Bolex 16mm film camera. To fund his film he word work part-time for a SPFX company, building movie props and set pieces for Fox Studios.

30 Rock is an American television comedy series created by Tina Fey which airs on NBC. The series takes place behind the scenes of a fictional live sketch comedy series, also airing on NBC; the name "30 Rock" refers to the address of the GE Building, where NBC Studios is located (30 Rockefeller Plaza). Liz Lemon

Elizabeth Miervaldis "Liz" Lemon (Tina Fey), the series' protagonist, is head writer of TGS with Tracy Jordan. Jack Donaghy calls her a "New York third-wave feminist, college-educated, single-and-pretending-to-be-happy-about-it, over-scheduled, undersexed, you buy any magazine that says 'healthy body image' on the cover and every two years you take up knitting for... a week." Lemon is a Star Wars fan and is portrayed as a "geek." She also lacks certain social skills and is a stress eater, particularly ingesting junk food. She is generally shown to have liberal political views. Despite her high standards in men, personified in her imaginary perfect husband, Astronaut Mike Dexter, Lemon has had some "really terrible boyfriends," but eventually finds happiness with Criss Chross, with whom she adopts two children.

Jonathan (1 Samuel)

Jonathan (Hebrew: יְהוֹנָתָן Yəhōnāṯān or Yehonatan; or יוֹנָתָן Yonatan) is a heroic figure in 1 Samuel in the Hebrew Bible. He was the eldest son of King Saul and close friend of King David. Like his father, he was a man of great strength and swiftness (2 Samuel 1:23), and excelled in archery and slinging (2 Samuel 1:22 - 1 Chronicles 12:2). The relationship between David and Jonathan is one of the most notable biblical relationships.

Conflicts with Saul

Jonathan first appears in the biblical narrative as the victor of Geba, a Philistine stronghold (1 Samuel 13), while in the following chapter he carries out a lone attack on another Philistine garrison, demonstrating his "prowess and courage as a warrior." However, he eats honey without knowing that his father had said, "Cursed be any man who eats food before evening comes" (1 Samuel 14:24). Saul means to put Jonathan to death because of this, but relents when the soldiers protest (1 Samuel 14:45).

The story of David and Jonathan is introduced in chapter 18, where it says that "Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself" (verse 1). Jonathan helps David escape from Saul, and asks him to show kindness to his family (1 Samuel 20:14-15), which indicates that Jonathan recognizes David as the future king.

Jonathan (2016 film)

Jonathan is an upcoming German drama film directed by Piotr J. Lewandowski. It has been selected to be screened in the Panorama section at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.

Dixon, California

Dixon is a city in northern Solano County, California, United States, located 23 miles (37 km) from the state capital, Sacramento. The population was 18,351 at the 2010 census. Other nearby cities include Vacaville, Winters and Davis.

History

The first semi-permanent European settlement to develop in the (now) Dixon area emerged during the California Gold Rush of the mid-19th century. During this time, the community of Silveyville was founded as a halfway point between the Pacific coast and the rich gold fields of Sacramento—along a route commonly traveled by miners. In 1868, Central Pacific railroad came through the area and missed Silveyville by a few miles. As a result, local leaders decided to physically relocate Silveyville closer to the tracks in order to enjoy the benefits of commerce and travel. One of the first buildings that still stands in Dixon from the 1871 move is the Dixon Methodist Church located at 209 N. Jefferson Street.

Originally, the city was named "Dicksonville" after Thomas Dickson who donated 10 acres of his land for the construction of a railroad depot following the completion of the tracks and subsequent relocation of Silveyville to the now-Dixon area. However, when the first rail shipment of merchandise arrived from San Francisco in 1872, it was mistakenly addressed to "Dixon"—a name that has been used since, mainly out of simplicity. Up to now, the urban landscape of the town can be seen to have developed mostly in between the railroad tracks and Interstate-80.

Dixon (Shacklefords, Virginia)

Dixon, also known as Dixon's Plantation, is a historic plantation home located near Shacklefords, King and Queen County, Virginia. It was built about 1793, and is a two-story, five bay, frame house with brick end walls. It has a gambrel roof and sits on a brick foundation. Curving hyphens connect the main house to flanking buildings.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
