Johnny Carson

John William "Johnny" Carson (October 23, 1925 – January 23, 2005) was an American television host, comedian, writer, producer, actor, and musician, best known for his thirty years as host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962–1992). Carson received six Emmy Awards, the Governor's Award, and a 1985 Peabody Award. He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1987. Johnny Carson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992 and received a Kennedy Center Honor in 1993.

Although his show was already successful by the end of the 1960s, during the 1970s Carson became an American icon and remained so even after his retirement in 1992. He adopted a casual, conversational approach with extensive interaction with guests, an approach pioneered by Arthur Godfrey and previous Tonight Show hosts Steve Allen and Jack Paar. Former late-night host and friend, David Letterman, cited Carson's influence.

Johnny Richard Carson, Sr. (January 31, 1930 – April 1, 2009) was a professional American football tight end for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League from 1953 to 1959. He also played for the Houston Oilers of the American Football League during their inaugural season in 1960. He played college football at the University of Georgia, where he was an All-American. Carson was drafted in the fifteenth round of the 1953 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

Born January 31, 1930 in the Cabbagetown area of Atlanta, he was son of the late Clyde and Annie Hayes Carson and grandson of country music pioneer, Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame member Fiddlin' John Carson. An exceptional athlete, he led high school basketball, baseball and golf teams to multiple state titles at F.D. Roosevelt High in Atlanta. He was a member of three SEC championship golf teams at the University of Georgia and was the only athlete in UGA history and last in NCAA Division I history to letter in four different sports (football, golf, basketball, baseball). He was the first of only two two-sport All-Americans from UGA, honored for golf 1951 and football in 1953. He was the second member ever inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame (1957) and was inducted into the UGA Circle of Honor in 2003. A seven-year NFL playing career preceded 35 years as a scout for the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings before retiring in 1996 to Greene County. Love You (album)

Love You (also known as The Beach Boys Love You) is the 21st studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on April 11, 1977. Originally conceived as a Brian Wilson solo album entitled Brian Loves You, the album is almost entirely written and performed by Wilson, with the other band members mainly serving as additional lead vocalists. Peaking at number 53 on US record charts, the album was received with a sharp divide between fans and critics. One single was issued from the album: "Honkin' Down the Highway" backed with "Solar System".

Penned during a process of mental and drug rehabilitation for Wilson, Love You has been praised by reviewers for the album's honest, unpretentious lyrics, and has been described as a portrait into his sense of self in 1977. Heavily reliant on 1970s analog synthesizers, the album has been recognized as an early work of synthpop, a forerunner to new wave experiments, and an idiosyncratic and creative oddity in the Beach Boys' canon. A followup album, Adult Child, was completed by the group, but left unreleased.
