Johnny B (song)

"Johnny B" is a song from The Hooters' third studio album One Way Home. It was written by Eric Bazilian, Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman. "Johnny B" was released as a single in 1987 by Columbia Records, and reached #61 on Billboard Hot 100 list. An accompanying music video was also released, directed by David Fincher.

The song was covered in 1997 by the German rap group Down Low and reached #4 on the German Singles Chart. The Finnish rock band Yö has also recorded a Finnish version of the song with the title "Angelique". Czech rock band Tlustá Berta also recorded another version of this song with title "Prázdnej byt". In 2014, the german rapper Reskil covered the song using the same title.

Johnny Brennan

John Gerard Brennan "Johnny" Brennan (born December 1, 1961 in New York City, New York, U.S.) is an American actor, film writer, and voice actor. He is a member of the Jerky Boys; a prank call duo with Kamal Ahmed from 1989 to 2001, and restarted by Brennan in 2006.

In 1995, Brennan wrote and starred with Kamal in a motion picture portraying the antics of the Jerky Boys called The Jerky Boys: The Movie (the film was shot between April and June 1994). In 1997, Johnny appeared in the Mariah Carey music video "Honey". Brennan is more recently known for his voice work in the animated series Family Guy where he performs the voices of Mort Goldman (whose voice and mannerisms are almost identical to that of his Jerky Boys character Sol Rosenberg) and Horace the bartender of the Drunken Clam. He appears as himself as a member of the Jerky Boys in an episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast in 1994.

In 2007, Brennan released the first solo release under the Jerky Boys name, titled Sol's Rusty Trombone. It was the first Jerky Boys release since 2001. In April, Brennan reprised his role of Frank Rizzo on the animated web series Clock Suckers in the episode "If You Can't Beat 'Em, Then You're a Pussy".

Roos is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated 12 miles (19 km) east from Kingston upon Hull city centre and 3.5 miles (6 km) north-west from Withernsea, and on the B1242 road.

Geography

The civil parish is formed by the villages of Roos, Hilston and Tunstall, together with the hamlet of Owstwick. According to the 2011 UK census, Roos parish had a population of 1,168, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 1,113. The parish covers an area of 2,333.222 hectares (5,765.52 acres).

The Prime Meridian crosses the coast to the east of Roos.

The parish church of All Saints is a Grade I listed building.

In popular culture

The meeting of Beren and Luthien in JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings, was written after the author and his wife visited a wood near to Roos. The Hemlocks in the wood were said to have inspired his verse.
