John Tillman is the chairman and CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute (IPI), a nonprofit think tank that supports limited government and free-market principles. Tillman has served as the group's CEO since 2007.
In 2011, Tillman won the Roe Award from the State Policy Network. The annual award “pays tribute to those in the state public policy movement whose achievements have greatly advanced the free market philosophy.”
Tillman played professionally in the National Lacrosse League for the Baltimore Thunder from 1997 to 1999 and the Washington Power in 2000. He also played at the amateur level for the Toyota Lacrosse Club, which won five consecutive Southern Division Championships and a world championship in 2000.
