He thanked the band member's wives and children and also thanked former Verve guitarist Simon Tong, who was not included in the newly reformed Verve line up. He also did an interview on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show after the band's 2007 reformation, and he also appeared alone and alongside Ashcroft in a handful of Verve documentaries and other miscellaneous interviews throughout the 1990s.

Simon was a rival to John Smith, producing numerous portraits of royal and other distinguished personages. He worked from pictures by Godfrey Kneller, Michael Dahl, Thomas Gibson, Thomas Murray, Philip Mercier, Enoch Seeman, and others; he also engraved the Raphael Cartoons. He took biblical, historical, and decorative subjects from Louis Laguerre, Watteau, Barocci, and Rosalba.
Simon published some of his prints himself at addresses around Covent Garden. He also worked for Edward Cooper, John Overton, Thomas Bowles, and other printsellers.

I once was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in
And let a little light from heaven fills my soul.
He bathed my heart in love, and He wrote my name above
And just a little talk with Jesus makes me whole.
(Now let us) have a little talk with Jesus
(Let us) tell Him all about our troubles
(He will) hear our fainted cry
(He will) answer by and by
(When you) feel a little prayer wheel turning
(And you) will know a little fire is burnin'
(You will) find a little talk with Jesus makes it right.
--- Instrumental ---
I may have doubts and fears, my eye be filled with tears
But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night
I go to him in prayer, He knows my every care
And just a little talk with my Jesus make it right.
And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right...
