John Pettigrew

John Pettigrew (31 October 1934 – 2014) was an Australian soccer player.

Pettigrew made his debut for Australia in October 1955 against South Africa in Newcastle. In 1956 he played in Australia's two matches at the 1956 Olympic Games. His fourth and final match for the national team was a friendy again India in December 1956.

Pettigrew died in 2014 aged 80.

John Pettigrew (politician)

John Pettigrew was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. and represented the Electoral District of Stanley from 20 Nov 1873 until 10 Dec 1878.

Personal life

John Pettigrew was born in 1832 Tarshaw, Burton, Ayrshire, Scotland. His parents were Robert Pettigrew and Mary (née McWhinnie). His brother was William Pettigrew, who was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Council and mayor of Brisbane. John was educated at the Ayr Academy, Scotland and emigrated to Australia in 1850.

After initially living in Melbourne John Pettigrew moved to Ipswich, Queensland in 1852 and was one Ipswich's first general storekeepers. He was a strong supporter of Moreton Bay Colony separating from New South Wales with his being the first signature to appear on the petition to the Governor of New South Wales.

John Pettigrew was an Alderman of Ipswich City Council in 1860-61; 1863–64; and 1866. He also served as Mayor of Ipswich in 1864

John Pettigrew (born 1968/1969) is a British businessman, the CEO-designate of National Grid plc.

Early life

John Pettigrew was born in 1968/1969. He has a degree from Cardiff University.

Career

Pettigrew joined National Grid as a graduate in 1991.

He joined the board in April 2014.

In November 2015, it was announced that Steve Holliday, the CEO for ten years, would leave in March 2016, and that Pettigrew, its UK executive director who joined National Grid 25 years ago, would succeed him.
