John Olive

John Olive, (born March 1, 1955) is a former American basketball player and coach. Olive attended Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, in Pennsauken, New Jersey, then played collegiate basketball at Villanova University, where he graduated in 1977.

Olive was drafted in the eighth round of the 1977 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played in the NBA for the San Diego Clippers from 1978 through 1980. He also played for the Alberta Dusters in the Continental Basketball Association in the 1980–81 season.

Olive was an assistant coach at Villanova under Rollie Massimino, from 1985–1992. He was named head coach at Loyola Marymount in 1992, where he served for five seasons.

Olive is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Torrey Pines High School in Del Mar, California.

John Olive (born 4 November 1996) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League. He plays at centre and wing and is signed to play with the Gold Coast Titans in 2017.

Background

Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Olive played his junior rugby league for the Kingsgrove Colts, before being signed by the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Playing career

Early career

In 2014, Olive played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs' NYC team. In November and December 2014, he played for the Australian Schoolboys.

2015

In 2015, Olive graduated on to the Rabbitohs' New South Wales Cup team, North Sydney Bears. In Round 14 of the 2015 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs against the Wests Tigers. On 8 July, he played for the New South Wales under-20s team against the Queensland under-20s team. In October, he signed a 2-year contract with the Gold Coast Titans starting in 2017.
