1SWASP J140747.93-394542.6 (often abbreviated 1SWASP J140747 or J1407) is a star similar to the Sun located in the constellation of Centaurus at a distance of about 420 light years from Earth. A relatively young star, its age is estimated to be 16 million years, and its mass is about 90% that of the Sun's. The star has an apparent magnitude of 12.3 and requires a telescope to be seen. The star's name comes from the SuperWASP (Wide Angle Search for Planets) program and the stars RA/Dec.

J1407 is probably orbited by at least one known body, 1SWASP J1407b (J1407b), thought to be either a large gas giant planet or a brown dwarf with an immense ring system.

The discovery of the J1407 system and its unusual eclipses were first reported by a team led by University of Rochester astronomer Eric Mamajek in 2012. The existence and parameters of the ring system around the substellar companion J1407b were deduced from the observation of a very long and complex eclipse of the previously anonymous star J1407 during a 56-day period during April and May 2007. The low-mass companion J1407b has been referred to as a "Saturn on steroids" or “Super Saturn” due to its massive system of circumplanetary rings with a radius of approximately 90 million km (0.6 AU). The orbital period of the ringed companion J1407b is estimated to be around a decade (constrained to 3.5 to 13.8 years), and its most probable mass is approximately 13 to 26 Jupiter masses, but with considerable uncertainty. The ringed body can be ruled out as being a star with mass of over 80 Jupiter masses at greater than 99% confidence. The ring system has an estimated mass similar to that of the Earth. A gap in the ring system at about 61 million km (0.4 AU) from its centre is considered to be indirect evidence of the existence of an exomoon with mass up to 0.8 Earth masses.

John J. B. Wilson

John J. B. Wilson (born May 24, 1954) is an American copywriter and publicist. He was born in Chicago, and moved with his parents to Santa Monica, California at an early age. He majored in film and television at University of California, Los Angeles, and after graduation worked on film marketing campaigns.

Wilson is the founder of the Golden Raspberry Awards (also known as the Razzies), an annual ceremony dedicated to "honoring" the worst in film. In 1981 while hosting a potluck dinner at his house on the night of the Academy Awards, Wilson invited his friends to give impromptu award presentations in his living room. The following year Los Angeles Daily News covered the event, the 1st Golden Raspberry Awards, and from behind a cardboard podium Wilson announced Can't Stop the Music as the first Razzie Award for Worst Picture. Attendance doubled at Razzie award ceremonies in the following years, and by the 4th Golden Raspberry Awards the event received coverage from CNN and two major news wires. Wilson has retained an active role in the awards, and is referred to as the "Head Razzberry". His book The Official Razzie Movie Guide was published in 2005 for the 25th anniversary of the Razzie awards.

Wilson station (CTA)

Wilson is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Red Line, part of the Chicago 'L' metro system and is located at 4620 North Broadway in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

History

The station opened on May 31, 1900, as the northern terminus of the Northwestern Elevated Railroad. It was converted to a two level station in 1907, with a loop track to aid turning trains. Wilson became a through station in 1908 when the Northwestern Elevated Railroad was extended to Central Street in Evanston (using tracks belonging to the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway). The current station building was built in 1923, shortly after the tracks to the north were elevated. Over the years the station has been extensively reconfigured: the lower level was closed on August 1, 1949; the platforms were reconfigured in 1960; and the North Shore Line—which also used the station—ceased operation in 1963, enabling the station layout to be simplified. The CTA's 2004–2008 Capital Improvement Plan includes plans to reconstruct the station starting in 2008.

"John" is a song by American rapper Lil Wayne, and the second single from his album Tha Carter IV. The song features rapper Rick Ross, and it peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. "John" was released on March 24, 2011, on iTunes. The song uses the hook from Rick Ross' song "I'm Not a Star" from his album Teflon Don. The song title refers to musician John Lennon. Lil Wayne performed the song at 2011's MTV Video Music Awards to the riff of Black Sabbath song, Iron Man.

John Bērziņš

John Bērziņš (Russian: Епископ Иоанн, born Pēteris Bērziņš Russian: Пётр Леонидович Берзинь; born 16 March 1957, Cooma, New South Wales, Australia) is bishop of Caracas and South America for the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) and head of the church's Old-Rite parishes.

Life

Pēteris Bērziņš was born on 16 March 1957 in Cooma, Australia, of Latvian Orthodox refugees, Leonid (1921–1996) and Margarita (b. 1924) Bērziņš, who were forced to leave their homeland during the Second World War. He grew up in Cooma and graduated with a philological degree from the Australian National University. He was fluent in ancient Greek and Latin.

In 1982, he entered Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, and enrolled in Holy Trinity Seminary. He graduated from the seminary in 1985.

He was tonsured to the mantle on 16 March 1985, by Archbishop Laurus (Shkurla) of Syracuse and Holy Trinity and ordained hierodeacon on 12 April 1987, also by Archbishop Laurus.

From 1992-1996, he served as father-confessor at Gethsemane Convent in the Holy Land. In 1994, he was awarded the gold pectoral cross by Archbishop Laurus. From 2001-2005, he served again as father-confessor at Gethsemane Convent in the Holy Land.
