Joe Inoue (井上 ジョー Inoue Jō?) (born August 30, 1985) is a Japanese American rock musician signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan's Ki/oon Records label. He was born and grew up in Los Angeles, California, to two Japanese immigrants.[1] It was not until middle school that he became interested in music and that eventually led him to start his musical career in 2007.[1] Inoue performs every instrument on his recordings in addition to writing and composing the pieces on his own. Although he was brought up in the United States and English is his first language, nearly all of his lyrics are in Japanese. He claims to have learned to speak Japanese fluently by reading manga and watching anime.[1]

He gained prominence when his song "Closer" was used as the fourth opening theme for Naruto: Shippuden.[2] His fifth single "Kaze no Gotoku" was used as the second theme song for the Yorinuki Gin Tama-san anime.[3]

Inoue contributed to tetsuya's 2011 solo album Come On! by rapping on the track "Eden"[4] and later wrote and was featured on Totalfat's 2011 single "World of Glory",[5] later included on the album Damn Hero. He also wrote the track "Adrenaline" on high school friend and fellow musician Yoko Yazawa's sophomore album Give Me!!!.

PLAYLIST TIME:

Gravity

by: Joe Inoue

I don't wanna call you
Because I used to call you everyday and night
I don't want to love you
Because I wouldn't be able to do anything on my own
Gravity starts to pull me down a little
I caught my breath and headed towards the middle
She doesn't seek dependency
She doesn't want to fall the day she leaves me
The more I devote myself to you
The more my own identity will be gone
I don't want to miss you
That's why I refuse to care about you any more
I wish I could just kill you
That way we can be together forever
Gravity starts to pull me down a little
I caught my breath and headed towards the middle
She doesn't seek dependency
She doesn't want to fall the day she leaves me
The more I devote myself to you
The more my own identity will be gone
Stare into your eyes and I see
Direct reflection of myself
All being said
I lie in bed
I'll do this all on my own
I don't wanna call you
Because I used to call you everyday and night
I don't wanna call you
