Jodel

Société Avions Jodel is a French aircraft company started in 1946 by Édouard Joly and his son-in-law Jean Délémontez.

History

Jodel designed a range of light aeroplanes shortly after the Second World War. The popular myth is that the two industrialists, with no formal aerodynamics training, set about designing a single-seat aircraft with some spare plywood and a small engine, a Poinsard 25hp 2-cyl. The result was the 1948 D9 Bébé (Baby) model. In fact, the two had much experience of building and designing aircraft, Delemontez being a trained aeronautical engineer, and Joly having built an aircraft before the war.

The French government bought many of the aircraft, with more than 500 D9s being built during the next twenty years. Subsequently, the government expressed interest in a larger aircraft as a trainer and the two-seat D11 model followed in 1950.

Jodel aircraft are all-wood, usually made from Sitka spruce and plywood made out of okoume (also known as gaboon), a kind of West African hardwood. Most of the designs are recognisable by their distinctive wings, which have ‘cranked’ dihedral only on the outer third. The wings also incorporate washout, retaining aileron effectiveness at or just prior to the stall. From above or below, the wings are also distinctive as this cranked section of the wing tapers sharply towards the wingtip.

This is a character guide for the Game Boy Advance game Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. The names as presented here are the official translations from Fire Emblem Museum, excepting those characters who appear in the game's prequel, Fire Emblem or Fire Emblem Awakening. Furthermore, it is possible that should Nintendo of America elect to localize The Binding Blade for the North American market, many of the names could be altered further or changed entirely. The same also holds true for the equally large markets in Europe and other PAL territories.

Playable characters

Roy

Roy (ロイ, Roi), is the main character of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. He is the son of marquess Eliwood of Pherae. Taught by Marcus and Cecilia, he was chosen to lead the armies of Lycia, and later, Etruria in Eliwood's stead due to his suffering from an illness. Along the story, he gathers more and more soldiers, and eventually captures the capital of Bern by force.

Roy is present in every chapter of the game, and is always necessary to seize enemy thrones or gates to progress further (except in the final chapter, in which he must kill the boss). Unlike most other characters, it is vital for Roy to remain alive. Roy's death will result in an immediate Game Over. He can have support conversations with a large cast of units(mainly women), and he is the only unit who is permitted to wield rapiers, and the Sword of Seals.
