Jim Wise

Jim Wise (born July 30, 1964 in Santa Monica, California) is an American actor, voice actor, writer and composer. He is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Coach Tugnut in the Disney Channel Original Series Even Stevens.

Wise's other television acting credits include That's So Raven, JAG, Veronica's Closet, Friends, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Suddenly Susan, Wizards of Waverly Place, Invader Zim and among other series. He also provided the voice of Loud Howard on Dilbert: The Series, played the football announcer in the 2001 film Not Another Teen Movie, and played a resort guest in the 2002 Philip Seymour Hoffman tragicomedy Love Liza.

As a singer and composer, he wrote all the songs featured in the Even Stevens episode "Influenza: The Musical" and wrote the song "Dream Vacation" for The Even Stevens Movie performed by Christy Carlson Romano; as well as three out of the six songs featured in the That's So Raven episode "The Road to Audition". In 2004, he provided the singing voice of SpongeBob SquarePants on the song "Goofy Goober Rock" in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

Jim Wise (April 24, 1919 – November 13, 2000) was an American musical composer, English professor and best known for the play Dames at Sea, as well as his contributions to the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Theater.

Early life

Wise was born in Akron, Ohio in 1919 as James Newton Wise. After graduating from Wooster College in 1941 with a degree in Classical Languages, he served in the Army’s Public Relations Division during World War II. He began his M.A. in English at Columbia University upon returning to the U.S. in 1946. Wise completed his M.A. in 1948 and taught with Columbia’s School of General Studies from 1950–1952.

Career

He began working at Newark College of Engineering (now known as New Jersey Institute of Technology) in 1955, where he taught English composition until his retirement in 1989.

In May 1966, Dames at Sea opened in Manhattan’s off-off-Broadway Café Cino, located in Greenwich Village, under the title Dames at Sea or Golddiggers Afloat. A parody of musicals from the 1920s and 1930s, Dames at Sea starred newcomer Bernadette Peters as “Ruby,” and is how the actress got her start. The musical re-opened under the title Dames at Sea in the Off-Broadway Bouwerie Lane Theatre on December 20, 1968 and then transferred to the Theatre De Lys on April 22, 1969, where it played until its closing on May 10, 1970, with a total of 575 performances. Dames was revived at Manhattan’s Lamb’s Theatre in 1985, and then at NJIT in 1989.

Seiji Kameyama (亀山晴児, Kameyama Seiji, born on August 10, 1979), better known by his stage name Wise, is a Japanese hip hop recording artist who raps in both Japanese and English. His father is Japanese and his mother is American and during high school he lived in the United States. He is affiliated with the creative group Kazenohito. In 2005, he formed the group Wise'N'SonPub with beatmaker SonPub, and the group Teriyaki Boyz with Ryo-Z, Ilmari (from RIP SLYME) and Verbal (from M-Flo).
