Jide Obi Ibo (born 1962) is a Nigerian music star of the 1980s.
Jide Obi was born in England to a Nigerian barrister of England's Lincoln Inn, and a teacher.
In the late 1970s he studied law at Enugu campus of the University of Nigeria, where he became friends with fellow student Chris Okotie.
Following Okotie's success, in the early 1980s he released his debut albumTonight under the Tabansi Records label. Other hits included Kill Me With Love, and Front Page News. He made numerous performances on Nigerian radio and television, some in front of state governors and senators, and even once in front of Nigeria's first President, Nnamdi Azikiwe.
In November 1981, his record label, Tabansi Records, gave him his first gold disc award at the National Theatre, Surulere. Two years later, he toured Eastern Nigeria with Sierra Leone's Bunny Mack, backed mostly by the Comrades of Enugu, Nigeria.
He has had several bands backing him, including Guyanese musician Eddy Grant's Coach House Band, the Dukes of Freetown Sierra Leone, and the Apostles of Aba. His albums Front Page News and Kill Me With Love were both produced by Barbados native Bill Campbell. Ex-Osibisa and Funkees guitarist Jake Solo performed on both recordings.
Gotta giddy up...
Gotta giddy up...
'N Sync - giddy up... like this
Gotta giddy up..
C'mon...just drop the verse
Gotta giddy up...
Tried to get a hold of you last night
Called you on the phone
Thinkin' to myself something ain't right
Girl were you alone?
Letting little things come between us
All we do is fuss
When all I wanna do is show you love
So I say, Hold up!
I'm tired of all these lies...yeah, yeah
Hold up!
And if you wanna make things right
That's right
Hold up!
I'm tired of all these lies
Hold up!
Cause if you wanna make things right, you got to..
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
I Gotta giddy up
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
Gotta giddy up
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
I gotta giddy up, giddy up
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
Gotta giddy up
Remembering the way we used to be
Everything was cool
And now you've gone and done all this to me babe (to me])
Maybe we can turn this love around
Give it one more try
You see everytime you're thinkin about saying goodbye
I gotta I say, Hold up!
I'm tired of all these lies
Hold up!
If you wanna make things right
Hold up!
I'm tired of all these lies
Hold up!
Cause if you wanna make things right, you got to
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
I Gotta giddy up
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
Gotta giddy up (like this)
Giddy up, Giddy up, Giddy up now (giddy up, giddy up)
