Jane Lee

Jane Lee (1912-17 March 1957) was a child star in silent motion pictures beginning in 1914.

Biography

Jane Lee was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Along with her sister, Katherine Lee, born 1909, she appeared in the original Neptune's Daughter filmed in 1914. In 1915 Jane appeared with Valeska Suratt in The Soul of Broadway at Fox Studios. Katherine was seven years old and Jane was only five in 1917 when they starred in Troublemakers, produced by the Fox Film Corporation, and Two Little Imps.

Jane and Katherine continued performing in vaudeville. In the 1920s and early 1930s they appeared in New York, New York and London, England. In 1925 they brought their vaudeville act to the Majestic Theatre in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Lee continued to act in silent films through 1919. She appeared in Swat The Spy (1918), Tell It To The Marines (1918), and Smile (1919). She had uncredited roles in the sound motion pictures Knock On Any Door (1949), Cheaper By The Dozen (1950), and Comin' Round The Mountain (1951).

Jane Lee (mountaineer)

Jane Lee Zhen Zhen (born 1984) is a mountaineer, speaker and writer from Singapore. Co-founder and co-team leader of the Singapore Women's Everest Team, Lee is also the first female from Southeast Asia and the 37th woman in history to have scaled the Seven Summits, the highest peaks of the seven continents including Mount Kilimanjaro, Denali, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Vinson and Everest (Chomolungma).

Education

Lee studied at the National University of Singapore, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) (Honours).

Seven Summits

After successfully climbing up Mount Everest, Lee targeted the rest of the Seven Summits and promptly quit her former job as a Senior Executive at Singapore's Republic Polytechnic's Adventure Learning Centre to become a professional full-time mountaineer, securing sponsorships for her climbs from organisations such as MindChamps, an esteemed tuition centre in Singapore, Bank Julius Baer, a Swiss bank, and Khunu, a Himalayan company selling wool derived from mountain yaks in the Himalayas, at the same time.

Jane Lee (actress)

Jane Lee (born in Los Angeles, California) is an Asian-American actress and former beauty queen. She has served as a TV host and appeared in films, theatre productions, commercials, and music videos in the US and Korea. Fluent in English, Lee also is versed in conversational Korean.

Early life

Born in Los Angeles, California, Lee placed first in acting in Southern California’s Korea Talent Search and earned the Korean Times title in the 1998 Miss Korea California Pageant.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communications with a major in TV/Film Production from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), Lee furthered her studies at several acting schools including Aaron Speiser Studio, Margie Haber Studio, and East West Players.

Career

Central to Lee’s career has been serving as a professional TV show host on several stations and an actress in a variety of films. Film roles have ranged from portraying a blind young lady who gets possessed after having her eyesight restored, the best friend to a dying woman, a comedic private investigator, a passive Japanese girl, and a Valley girl only interested in her looks.
