Jamie Stewart (born as James Alec Stewart; 31 January 1964) is a British musician and former bassist of the 1980s post-punk/hard rock group The Cult. He played bass guitar on each of The Cult's first four albums (Dreamtime, Love, Electric and Sonic Temple), and keyboards on Dreamtime and Love.
He was born in Harrow, London to Donald Stewart (violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra) and Myra Stewart (née Kidd) (dancer with the International Ballet).
Stewart's musical career began playing guitar in Harrow-based band Ritual. Ritual gigged extensively in London's gothic rock/ post-punk scene but rarely outside. Ritual's first output was a 4 song radio session for BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel in 1981. This led the way for a self-compiled and released cassette album Songs for a Dead King, which was available only at gigs and by mail order. In 1982, Ritual signed to Red Flame Records and released one single - Mind Disease (1982) - and one EP - Kangaroo Court (1983). In 1983, Ritual drummer Ray Mondo was recruited by Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy to form Death Cult (later The Cult). Stewart, after prompting from Mondo, attended auditions for the Death Cult bass player role and was subsequently hired.

James Cyrus Stewart (born 1978) is an American musician and writer best known for his role in experimental rock band Xiu Xiu. He has appeared in other bands including Former Ghosts and Sal Mineo.
Stewart was born in 1978 and raised in Los Angeles. He was in several bands before Xiu Xiu, beginning in his youth. While in school, he played in a parody band and a Bauhaus cover band. After high school, he played bass in a group with guitarist Kenny Lyon and members from bands such as Devo, Geza X, The Screamers, and Sparks. Stewart has said that this experience was particularly formative for his career, but he did not realize this then. He later quit the band and moved home to attend college. During this period he came out to his parents, although this was not received warmly.
At home, Stewart briefly played in several other bands before being kicked out, and a high school friend suggested that he start his own band, which became IBOPA. His father also played in the band, and Stewart also played with Korea Girl during this period.Metro Silicon Valley described IBOPA as a collision of "dance, lounge, disco, and ska" with the horror of Red Asphalt, and noted the band for bringing attention to South Bay music. IBOPA was briefly signed to an Elektra Records subsidiary in 1999, and broke up in July 1999 when the label dropped most of its artists. The band announced that five of its members—Stewart, Cory McCulloch, Kurt Stumbaugh, Tim Kirby, and Don Dias—would continue into a new acoustic and experimental band called Ten in the Swear Jar.
Jamie Stewart (born April 25, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender.
Stewart played collegiate hockey with the Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey team before playing four seasons of professional hockey. He was selected as the Colonial Hockey League Best Goaltender of the Year for both the 1991–92 and 1992–93 seasons.
