Jamie King

Jamie King (born in 1972) is an American creative director, choreographer, and producer whose work directing concert tours for pop stars has grossed over two billion dollars.

Early career

King started his career in entertainment as a dancer. He went on tour with Michael Jackson on his Dangerous World Tour in 1992. Afterward he worked as a director and choreographer in Prince's Glam Slam West nightclub in Los Angeles. While at Glam Slam West, King created a new show every week using songs that Prince was unable to commercially release due to legal obligations to Warner Bros. Records. It was during this time that King learned staging. After seeing a performance by Prince at the 1993 American Music Awards (that King directed and choreographed), Madonna called King to talk about the two of them working together. The first time they worked together was when he choreographed her 1995 music video "Human Nature".

Fitness ventures

In 2004, King teamed up with Nike to create the Nike Rockstar Workout for use in Crunch Fitness gyms across the United States. In 2007, he released his Rock Your Body fitness DVD which sold 100,000 copies.

Personal life

Jamie Thomas King was born in London, England and educated at Dulwich College, Fine Arts College and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is the son of American screen writer Laura Lamson and English television director Christopher King.

Career

King began his acting career in the theatre, where his most notable performance was in the Royal National Theatre's production of Alan Bennett's The History Boys. He has since acted extensively in American and European film and television productions, but he is most recognized for playing poet Thomas Wyatt in the television series The Tudors.

Jamie King (born November 21, 1973 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian curler.

King was the alternate for the Kevin Koe rink in 2010, where he won 2010 Tim Hortons Brier and 2010 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship. King played in just two games at the World Championships, against Denmark and Japan. For much of that season, King skipped his own Edmonton-based rink. Following the season, King joined the Warren Hassall rink as third, and then skipped the rink the following season. In 2012, King left the team to form a new team with Blake MacDonald, Scott Pfeifer and Jeff Erickson.

Outside of curling, King is a Sales Manager with TD Bank.

Jamie King is a bassist from Derry, Northern Ireland, who is part of the alternative rock band, Fighting With Wire. Along with Fighting With Wire, King's other interests include the promotion of the music industry within Northern Ireland, through youth work and particularly, the Nerve Centre. In early 2007, Jamie, along with bandmate Cahir, mentored over 30 aspiring musicians aged 16 to 18 in the Nerve Centre's Music Hothouse.
