Jake Pitts

Jacob Mark "Jake" Pitts is an American musician and record producer best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Black Veil Brides.

Personal life

The song "Carolyn" was written by Black Veil Brides' Lead Guitarist Jake Pitts about his mother when she was going through a period of illness. On January 18, 2014, his mother, Carolyn, died. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his two dogs: Trixy, a Bichon frise/Miniature Pinscher and Ernie, a brown Boston terrier.

Music career

He received his first guitar when he was 10 years old, but he put it away and didn't play it for a few years then he picked it back up when he began listening to Metallica, because he wanted to recreate their sound. He learned music and harmony theory from his mother, who was a classical pianist and composer. Jake is also influenced musically by rock and heavy metal artists such as Van Halen, Scorpions, Paul Gilbert, Buckethead, Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Avenged Sevenfold, Mötley Crüe, and Metallica. Before joining Black Veil Brides, he played lead guitar in the bands The Perfect Victim and 80 Proof Riot. He is a certified recording engineer and went to Los Angeles Recording School in 2006.

  • Rise of the Cybermen

"Rise of the Cybermen" is the fifth episode of the second series of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who. The episode introduces a non-extraterrestrial reinvention of the Cybermen, as well as a parallel universe which would serve as a recurring plot element in the series. It is the first part of a two-part story, the concluding part being "The Age of Steel". The TARDIS becomes stranded in an alternative universe where Rose Tyler's father is alive and corporations are closely involved with the British government; one such corporation is Cybus Industries, which is being countered by an underground resistance. The Doctor, Rose and Mickey Smith discover a plot by Cybus co-founder John Lumic to convert the population of London into monotonous cybernetic creatures resembling enemies the Doctor has faced before.

The episode was first broadcast on 13 May 2006. It was directed by Graeme Harper, who became the first and so far only man in the show's history to have directed episodes in both the original and revived runs of the series: he previously directed the acclaimed serial The Caves of Androzani in 1984, and Revelation of the Daleks in 1985.

    History

The community which later became Pitts began as a settlement in the area of the home of L.C. Peebles, two miles east of the Alapaha River. Brock Owens and Ashley J. Pitts operated the first store there in the mid-1880s. Pitts was called Kings' Crossing at the time. When application was made for a post office, the Postmaster General preferred a shorter name. J.A. King suggested the name Pitts, in honor of his son-in-law, Ashley J. Pitts. The name was accepted, and the post office was established on 1 November 1888 with Pitts as postmaster.

On April 20, 1921, various people throughout southwest and south-central Georgia observed a meteor trail across the sky which culminated in an explosion and impact at a minimum of four spots slightly north of Pitts. Three fragments of the meteorite were recovered, one falling within a few feet of a child playing outside. It was classified as an iron meteorite. The largest recovered fragment weighed 3.76 kilograms and is currently housed in the Smithsonian Institution Collection. The other fragments remain in private collections. Local accounts and fragments were collected and documented in the Geological Survey of Georgia Bulletin, Issue 29.

    10 years ago, I thought I knew
Everything, nobody couldn't tell me shit
But I was in love, boy I was dumb
It's just like playing with a loaded gun
And I say whoa, how can you trust?
    Trust someone who's always leaving
And whoa, how good I get? When I'm out with other women
    [Chorus]
It's one thing when you're 21, you don't look in the mirror
And now a nigga 31, you see things so much clearer
It's one thing when you're 21, you don't look in the mirror
And now a nigga 31, you see things so much clearer
Oh, yeah, so many friends, in the beginning
Saying we family yeah I got you, don't trip
But with flash of lights, came into sight
Down swoops the one that was left holdin
I say whoa, how can you trust?
    Trust someone who's always leaving
I say whoa, how could I see
When I spend so much damn money
    [Chorus]
It's one thing when you're 21, you don't look in the mirror
And now a nigga 31, you see things so much clearer
It's one thing when you're 21, you don't look in the mirror
And now a nigga 31, you see things so much clearer
Sing it for me, sing it for me
It's one thing when you're 21, you don't look in the mirror
And now a nigga 31, you see things so much clearer
It's one thing when you're 21, you don't look in the mirror
