Jake Edwards

Jake Edwards may refer to:

Jake Edwards (Australian footballer)

Jake Edwards (born 6 January 1988) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League.

Edwards played TAC Cup football with the Western Jets, and was selected in the 2005 AFL National Draft by the Carlton Football Club with its third round draft pick (#36 overall).

Edwards did not gain senior AFL selection during his first two seasons with the club. He spent 2006 and 2007 playing with Carlton's VFL-affiliate, the Northern Bullants, although these years were also marred by injury. Edwards made his senior debut for Carlton in the opening game of the 2008 AFL season against Richmond, and played five games for the season. Throughout the early part of his cereer, he played primarily as a leading forward-pocket.

Edwards shifted into a defensive role in the backline in 2009, and played fourteen games with the Bullants, including its grand final loss, but he did not again gain selection to the Carlton team. He was delisted at the end of the 2009 season.

Jake Edwards (footballer, born 1976)

Jake Edwards (born 11 May 1976) is a former English/American professional footballer, who plays as a striker.

Edwards was born in Manchester, England. He went to Hanover Park High School in New Jersey, where he played football all four years. He was a ball boy at the 1994 World Cup when he lived in the United States, and started his playing career at Wrexham before going on loan to Blackpool and Telford United.

Telford United then signed him permanently. He then moved to Yeovil Town for a season before signing for Exeter City. He was then loaned out twice more, first to Tamworth, then to Chester City where he helped the club avoid relegation from the Football League. He then signed for Crawley Town at the start of the 2006–07 season.

On 11 January 2007, Edwards left the Red Devils to join his former club Tamworth on a contract that would see him with The Lambs until the end of the season with an option on a further season.

On 10 May 2007, Edwards and Tamworth team mate John McGrath joined local rivals Burton Albion following Tamworth's relegation from the Football Conference. He was released at the end of the season .

Jake Edwards a.k.a. Bro Jake or Brother Jake, (born in Moncton, NB) is an award-winning British Columbia, Canada based radio personality. Edwards has been best known for his fictional comedy character "The Champ". For his skill, Edwards won the 2001 Canadian Music Network Radio Personality of the Year Award. For the same year, Edwards' show on Rock 101 was among the highest-rated in the BBM Canada ratings. Vancouver's Classic Rock 101 (CFMI) had been the home of Bro Jake for over 17 years. In 2013, Corus Entertainment (Rock 101) declined to renew the contract of its veteran radio personality. All-sports, CKST-AM (TSN Radio 1040), jumped at the chance to pair Bro Jake with veteran sport broadcaster, David Pratt, for a more entertainment oriented morning show. The duo debuted the new morning show to the Vancouver market in September 2013.

CFRQ (Q-104)

The veteran broadcaster was part of the original line-up of the album rock (AOR) format radio station Q-104 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. CFRQ, branded with its original slogan "The Rock of the Atlantic", signed on the air in November 1983 with Bro Jake as the premier host of the " Morning Zoo", which he hosted from 1983 to 1985. To commemorate Q-104's 20th anniversary, the radio station dedicated a segment of the 2003 anniversary to the broadcaster. It featured memorable stories and milestones from Bro Jakes' early days at Q-104; also, early recorded clips from regional Atlantic Canadian radio stations such as CKCW radio AM 1220 Moncton, Bro Jake's native city where he left his signature and accolades as an up-and-coming radio personality and entertainer from 1976 to 1979.
