Mencía is a Spanish grape variety primarily found in the northwestern part of the country. It is planted on over 9,100 hectares (22,000 acres), and it is primarily found in the Bierzo, Ribeira Sacra and Valdeorras regions.
Most wines produced from Mencía have traditionally been light, pale, relatively fragrant red wines for early consumption. This style of wine was the result of post-Phylloxera plantations on fertile plains, which tended to give high yields but diluted wine. In recent years, much more concentrated and complex wines have been produced by a new generation of winemakers, primarily from old vines growing on hillsides, often on schist soils, in combination with careful vineyard management. This has led to a renewed interest in Mencía and the Denominaciones de Origen using it, such as Bierzo, Valdeorras, Ribeira Sacra and the little-known Liébana.
Since the 1990s, the grape is increasing in popularity, and an increasing number of noted Spanish winemakers are now working with it.
A grape is a fruiting berry of the deciduous woody vines of the botanical genus Vitis.
Grapes can be eaten raw or they can be used for making wine, jam, juice, jelly, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar, and grape seed oil. Grapes are a non-climacteric type of fruit, generally occurring in clusters.
The cultivation of the domesticated grape began 6,000–8,000 years ago in the Near East.Yeast, one of the earliest domesticated microorganisms, occurs naturally on the skins of grapes, leading to the innovation of alcoholic drinks such as wine. The earliest archeological evidence for a dominant position of wine-making in human culture dates from 8,000 years ago in Georgia. The oldest winery was found in Armenia, dating to around 4000 BC. By the 9th century AD the city of Shiraz was known to produce some of the finest wines in the Middle East. Thus it has been proposed that Syrah red wine is named after Shiraz, a city in Persia where the grape was used to make Shirazi wine. Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics record the cultivation of purple grapes, and history attests to the ancient Greeks, Phoenicians, and Romans growing purple grapes for both eating and wine production. The growing of grapes would later spread to other regions in Europe, as well as North Africa, and eventually in North America.
There are numerous variations of the color violet, a sampling of which are shown below.
Although pure spectrum violet is outside the color gamut of the RGB color space, the three colors displayed below are rough approximations of the range of colors of actual spectral violet, although the accuracy of the approximation can vary depending on the individual's color vision, and on the color rendition of one's computer monitor.
The tertiary color on the HSV color wheel (also known as the RGB color wheel) precisely halfway between blue and magenta is called color wheel violet. This tone of violet—an approximation of the color violet at about 417 nanometers as plotted on the CIE chromaticity diagram—is shown at right. This tone of violet is actually somewhat toward indigo assuming indigo is accepted as a separate spectrum color, usually quoted as having a range of from about 420 to 450 nanometers. Another name for this color is near violet.

Jaén can refer to:
Jaén (pronounced: [xaˈen]) is a province of southern Spain, in the eastern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is bordered by the provinces of Ciudad Real, Albacete, Granada and Córdoba. Its capital is Jaén city.
Its area is 13,484 km². Its population is 657,387 (2003), of whom just about one-sixth live in the capital. It contains 97 municipalities. The highest point of the province is Pico Mágina (2165 m).
One of the lesser known provinces of Spain compared to the heavily tourist-oriented coast, it has four national parks, and many other protected natural areas. The province also contains two Renaissance cities, Úbeda and Baeza, both recently declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The annual chess tournament held in Linares attracts many of the world's best players.
Jaén is one of the largest producers of olive oil in the world. It produces around 45% of all Spanish production and 20% of world's production. For this reason the province is also known as World Capital of Olive Oil. The production of the province in 2013 was 749.387 t of olive oil.
Jaén is one of the 52 electoral districts (Spanish: circunscripciones) used for the Spanish Congress of Deputies - the lower chamber of the Spanish Parliament, the Cortes Generales.
Under Article 68 of the Spanish constitution the boundaries must be the same as the province of Jaén and under Article 140 this can only be altered with the approval of congress. Voting is on the basis of universal suffrage in a secret ballot. The electoral system used is closed list proportional representation with seats allocated using the D'Hondt method. Only lists which poll 3% or more of all valid votes cast, including votes "en blanco" (i.e. for "none of the above") can be considered for seats. Under article 12 of the constitution, the minimum voting age is 18.
Article 67.3 of the Spanish Constitution prohibits dual membership of the Cortes and regional assemblies, meaning that candidates must resign from Regional Assemblies if elected. Article 70 also makes active judges, magistrates, public defenders, serving military personnel, active police officers and members of constitutional and electoral tribunals ineligible.
Well I've been lying awake all night just thinking of
But a bottle of whiskey lies heavy obstructing my view
I've got a bottle of pills to give me my thrills
And I know that I'm leading a life that kills
(Wasted) I've wasted my time
(Wasted) I'm shooting a line
(Wasted) I'm stuck in a hole
(Wasted) I'm losing control
And I've been meaning to call, I've been wanting to
phone
You see I don't like the thought of leaving you here
alone
Well I've seen things down here that are fit for a
queen
I've seen things down here that should never be seen
(Wasted) I've wasted my money
(Wasted) I've wasted you honey
(Wasted) I'm out of my brain
(Wasted) I'm going insane
I'm running in thin air
There's nothingness everywhere
I've gotta get out
(Won't you help me?)
I've gotta get out
(Won't you help me?)
I've gotta get out, oh won't you help me get out?
I thought I saw you just the other day
But it couldn't be you 'cos you had nothing to say
'He's going away', they told all my friends
Well now I'll be stuck in here til the misery ends
(Wasted) I've wasted my time
(Wasted) I'm shooting a line
(Wasted) I'm out of my head
