ClayFighter

ClayFighter is a fighting game released for the Super NES in 1993 and later ported to Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in 1994. It was later released on Nintendo's Virtual Console.

Most of the game features a circus theme focused more on humor than serious gameplay. It features claymation-style graphics that were created by photographing and digitizing actual clay models.

The game was one of the two "clay" themed game franchises made by Interplay, the second being a platformer titled Claymates.

History

ClayFighter's design was originally made to compete with fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, but without the heavy violence and gore that was becoming controversial. Interplay pushed the game saying "Parents who object to blood-and-guts games now have an alternative title that gives kids the kind of intense action they want to see in fighting games" to draw sales.

Plot

A meteor made entirely out of clay crash-lands on the grounds of a humble American circus. The goo from the interstellar object contaminates all of the circus' attractions, transforming them into bizarre caricatures of their former selves, with new superpowers.

Taffy (candy)

Taffy, or chews, are a type of candy similar to toffee. Taffy is often sold alongside bubblegum and hard candy. Taffy is made by stretching or pulling a sticky mass of boiled sugar, butter or vegetable oil, flavorings, and coloring until it becomes aerated (meaning that tiny air bubbles are produced, resulting in a light, fluffy and chewy candy). When this process is complete, the taffy is rolled, cut into small pastel-coloured pieces and wrapped in wax paper to keep it soft. It usually has a fruity flavor, but other flavors are common as well, including molasses and the classic unflavored taffy.

Salt water taffy was a noted invention of Atlantic City, New Jersey, and became a common souvenir of many coastal resort towns. Modern commercial taffy is made primarily from corn syrup, glycerin and butter. The pulling process, which makes the candy lighter and chewier, consists of stretching out the mixture, folding it over and stretching it out again. Although it is called "salt water" taffy, it does not include any salt water in its manufacture at all. In the nearby Philadelphia regional dialect, the term "taffy", without "salt water" before it, used to refer to a lollipop or sucker.

Taffy (song)

"Taffy" is a song written and sung by Lisa Loeb. The song was recorded in 1995. It is featured on her album Tails, and her 2006 greatest hits album, The Very Best of Lisa Loeb.

It is about a boyfriend who always lies: the expression is saying that he likes to stretch the truth, which is basically lying.

Although the song was not a very successful single, it was moderately successful on radio. It peaked at #6 on U.S Billboard Bubbling Under The Hot 100 in early 1996, and the single's video was popular on VH1 and MTV. The song charted in the New Zealand RIANZ Top 40 at #39.

Jackie is a 2012 Dutch comedy-drama film directed by Antoinette Beumer, from an idea by Marnie Block and Karen van Holst Pellekaan. The leading roles are played by Carice van Houten, her real-life sister Jelka van Houten and Academy Award winner Holly Hunter.

Plot

Sofie (Carice van Houten) and Daan (Jelka van Houten) are twin sisters who were raised by two fathers (Paul Case and Jaap Spijkers). When they get a phone call from America that their biological mother (Holly Hunter) is in a hospital with a complicated leg fracture awaiting transfer to a rehabilitation center, the two end up in an adventure where everything they believed in is called into question. This results in an unforgettable journey to New Mexico with the strange and inappropriate Jackie where the lives of the two sisters will change forever.

Jackie (Ciara album)

Jackie is the sixth studio album by American recording artist Ciara, and was released on May 1, 2015, through Sony Music Entertainment. Following her departure from her previous record label, and the release of her self-titled fifth studio album, Ciara embarked on a hiatus in order to focus on her relationship with American rapper Future, which provoked Ciara to start work on her sixth album which was predominantly inspired by her then-fiancé. In May 2014, Ciara gave birth to her first child and shortly thereafter called off the engagement. Following the public break-up, Ciara postponed the album and began to record new music, while concentrating on motherhood.

During the recording of the album, Ciara worked with numerous long time collaborators including Harmony "H-Money" Samuels and Polow Da Don, as well as less frequent collaborators such as Dr. Luke and Dun Deal. The producers' efforts resulted in a predominantly pop and R&B album that took influence from dance-pop, house, electropop, trap, drum and bass and 1990's R&B with lyrics that revolve around themes of love, betrayal and motherhood. Titled after her mother, Ciara called upon numerous artists to be featured on Jackie including Pitbull, Missy Elliott, Joe Jonas and R3hab.
