JYP may refer to:

JYP Jyväskylä

JYP is an ice hockey team playing in the Finnish SM-liiga. They play in Jyväskylä, Finland, at the Synergia-areena.

History

JYP was founded in 1923. First it was the ice hockey section of the sports club Jyväskylän Palloilijat until 1977. Then they separated from that sports club to be an independent hockey club called JyP HT. The current full name of the club is JYP Jyväskylä Oy, having been registered as an osakeyhtiö since 1999. JYP has won the Finnish SM-liiga twice, in 2009 and 2012, having been the losing side in the play-off finals in 1989 and 1992.

Partnership with the Boston Bruins

As of September 8, 2010, JYP entered into a partnership agreement with the National Hockey League's oldest United States-based team, the Boston Bruins, to enable player transfer and training between the two teams and their developmental systems.

Park Jin-young

Park Jin-young (born December 13, 1971), also known as J.Y. Park or JYP , is a South Korean music mogul, musician and record producer. Beginning as a singer, he became a record producer and, ultimately, the CEO and founder of JYP Entertainment, a major artist management/record label of Korean pop music.

Biography

Park was born in Seoul. He graduated from Baemyung High School and he earned his bachelor's degree in geology from Yonsei University.

Music career

In 1992, Park debuted as a group called 'Park Jin-Young and the New Generation,' but it was not successful. In 1994, he debuted as a solo singer with the album Blue City featured the song "Don't Leave Me", and it was successful.

Park has released many albums. He followed Blue City with his second album Tantara in 1995. His third album Summer Jingle Bell came out in 1997 and featured the hit song "She Was Pretty". His fourth album Even After 10 Years (1998) featured the song "Honey", and his seventh album Back To Stage (2007) featured the song "Kiss". In 2013 he released an album called "White in Snow". While maintaining his status as a successful artist, he has also composed and produced over 31 charting singles and 25 albums for various groups in South Korea including Rain and Wonder Girls.
