Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics (often abbreviated to Oakland A′s) are an American professional baseball team based in Oakland, California. The Athletics are a member club of the West division of the American League (AL) in Major League Baseball (MLB). The club plays its home games at O.co Coliseum. The club has won nine World Series championships, the third most of all current Major League Baseball teams.

One of the American League's eight charter franchises, the club was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics. They won three World Series championships from 1910 to 1913 and two in a row in 1929 and 1930. The team's owner and manager for its first 50 years was Connie Mack and Hall of Fame players included Chief Bender, Frank "Home Run" Baker, Jimmie Foxx, and Lefty Grove. The team left Philadelphia for Kansas City in 1955 and became the Kansas City Athletics before moving to Oakland in 1968. They won three World Championships in a row from 1972 to 1974, led by players including Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, ace reliever Rollie Fingers, and colorful owner Charlie O. Finley. After being sold by Finley to Walter A. Haas, Jr., the team won three consecutive pennants and the 1989 World Series behind the "Bash Brothers", Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire, as well as Hall of Famers Dennis Eckersley and Rickey Henderson.

Abraham & Straus

Abraham & Straus, commonly shortened to A&S, was a major New York City department store, based in Brooklyn. Founded in 1865, it became part of Federated Department Stores in 1929. Shortly after Federated's 1994 acquisition of R.H. Macy & Company, it eliminated the A&S brand. Most A&S stores took the Macy's name, although a few became part of Stern's, another Federated division, but one that offered lower-end goods than did Macy's or A&S.

J. Lauritzen (JL) is a Danish shipping company with worldwide operations headquartered in Hellerup. JL is a private non-listed company wholly owned by the Lauritzen Foundation, a Danish commercial foundation that is also the parent of DFDS, Northern Europe's largest shipping and logistics company. The fleet

JL controls a fleet of bulk carriers (Lauritzen Bulkers) and gas carriers (Lauritzen Kosan) engaged in worldwide operations. Also, JL is part-owner of Axis Offshore Pte. Ltd. In 2014, JL controlled a fleet of approximately 150 vessels. JL has offices in Denmark, Singapore, China, USA, the Philippines, Spain & Switzerland.

JL’s dry bulk operations started in the late 1970s when the focus was on handysize bulk carriers/lakers. Today, Lauritzen Bulkers A/S is a major owner and operator of bulk carriers. Lauritzen Bulkers controls a fleet of around 90 handysize, handymax and capesize bulk carriers with an average age of six years in 2014. The handysize operations are the largest business activity and comprises a significant fleet of homogeneous vessels.
